View Full Version : Ressurection of the SE Ladder

Do you remember the Space Empires Universe Ladder? If not, it was the first and greatest SE role-playing community out there (not to mention the only long-term successful one thus far (not counting PBC, which is an entirely different form of role playing)). If so, don't you want it back in business? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Unfortunately due to the illicit activities of a select few, it was shut down temporarily back in late 2002. Now, we are working on getting it back up to spec. We are looking for people interested in helping to create a new and improved role-playing and empire rules system in a private setting. If you are interested in making the best RP community to date, please contact me via email or IM. My info is in my profile. Or, you can post here. Info on how you could contribute would be helpful. Thanks.

Go to http://68.48.82.138:80 and then the Regulations page to see the current rules.

If you have any questions pertaining to the Ladder, I will likely be more than willing to answer them. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

OK the new Ladder forum is up and has a basic lay out. There is a section for the Ladder and
a section for pickup games. It’s open to all and you don’t have to join the ladder to use it. You
can use it to organize side games and you can post your roll plays. It’s free to use and will
never pLaster you with pop ups. Check it out, then join up and tell us what you want. We also
need a few reliable people to act as Moderators.

My post was a reference to the film fight club and intended to be humerous.

If you haven't seen it, watch it, it is a really good movie.

Nice to see part of the old community being resurrected. Whatever happened to the old SeaFork project? I was following that for a while, then I disappeared and I can't find anything about it now that I'm back!

I think it is one of the best movies ever made because of what it says not what it does. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Rules of the Ladder
1. You do not talk about 'The Ladder'.
2. You do not talk about 'The Ladder'.
3. When someone types "Stop" or does not post, or quits, they have surrendered.
4. Only one empire per player.
5. One game at a time.
6. No cheaters, no winers.
7. Games go on as long as they have to.
8. If this is your first game of 'The Ladder', you have to post.

to breathe smoke."

Fyron I once wrote a forum game named Domination. It was a lot of fun, and the rules are kinda straight forward to learn. The problem is, the info is on my old P2 400 and that PC Died. I think the HD's are ok and I do have a hard copy of the rules thanks to CNC. If you curious about them I can try and get the rules from the old HD>

I like the idea of only allowing people to attack a maximum of 10 systems at a time.

Suggestion: Allow alliance war: Same setup as any other war, except it is one alliance declaring the war on another alliance, a war in which all members of both alliances will participate, and the numbers do not have to be equall. It would be a major disadvantage to being a member of an alliance.

Nice to hear you shut down the whole dimension hopping thing, it was getting to be like the ladderverse was some sort of interdemensional turnpike where dimension hopers got lost for eons....
