Hi i need an artist to create a shipset for one of my races, the Azlokians.
The Azlokians are simply put a combination of Zombies, and the Ilwrath of SC2.
They are a race of spider people who once had a mighty galaxy spanning empire, that was destroyed in record time, by the Jonol a godlike race who beleive they are the spawn of the Dark God Va'roci and will not rest until the universe has been purged of all sentient life save their own.
Since then the Azlokians have been rebuilding their shattered empire and trieng to find revenge;however thier anihilation by the Jonol was so total that they would have died off within five years had it not been for The Great Worm.
According to the Azlokians, The Great Worm had blessed their fallen warriors with new life with which to strike agasint the enemies.
Basically the Azlokians have undead, they are the primary race in LR mod to use the Necromantic tech tree, and are one of the Minor NPCs over at the Legacies community.
I need a shipset for them.
Their ships where very large and advanced, but are now run down and broken, shells of their former selves, held together in places by little more then Web. Basically this would be a unique set of Ghost Ships with massive webs on them ^_^ if anyone is interested in making this set for me, please offer your help, im not that picky.

So you want it based on that but not a total ripoff? I think I can pull this off. I'll make the ships look like that but busted up a little, with webbing around them and perhaps a few original touches.... TO DOGA!!!

Early draft, what do you think(sorry for the darkness, I'll fix that)? I haven't "detailed" them much yet(not so much damage apparent, no "web"), I feel they should be lighter and perhaps maybe red or green, I just made them gray to see how'd look and ask your input.

For certain ships i would like uhh like holes or whatnot in the ship to with web over it. After all most of the Azlokian ships are repaired ones from the war with the Jonol ^_^
But i could care less, those ships are kick *** ^_^

I'm glad you are pleased, I have an Idea, Instead of "rust" as the secondary texture(I just figured this out, I'm still not quite sure how the "bump" stuff works) I'll make a new one that looks like battle damage and burn marks. The webing shouldn't be to hard, I'll put the "swarm" and the space buttewrfly's on hold for awhile.

Yeah. Im VERY pleased, its just what i was hoping for.
Yeh neostandard would be nice.
If its not a bother make two troops and racepics, one "alive" and the other undead, with bones showing, flesh decaying and whatnot.
BTW i didint mention their biology much.
Ever play Warcraft 3? know the Nerubians think that but with four arms on top. If you need a pic i have a few ^_^

Actually a few pic would be nice to work off of, just send them to my email(I just turned it "on", I think I trust this board), uploading them is a bother.
And Spiders don't tecnichally have bones. they have Exoskeletons and inner guts, so I was going to make the "dead" race pic a semi-transparent spider with dried up wrinkly guts on the inside.

Only make it semi transparent in certain areas, im aiming for the zombie look IE some flesh(exoskeleton) but not all of it.

Btw some more suggestions
Bases:Aim for a mausoleum and crypt like feel to some and for others aim for something like a spiderweb.
Troops:For the Troop Small try and make a frankenstein like monster, IE a Azlokian pieced together from various parts, with extra arms, and whatnot. No clue for the others.
Mines:These are spiders, so the mines should be globs of web more or less, as Azlokian mines are designed to cripple a ship and allow an Azlokian battleship to swoop in and finish it.
Fightes:I dont know, but for at least one of these, base it off the Ilwrath Avenger.

Dude very nice. Just the webs dont fit, too bright! ^_^. Try darkening the webs, if it doesent work, just drop the webs, we dont need them. The ships are still very nice ^_^
And when i said webs i meant lots of small ones that make big ones ^_^ but this works too, or if it doesent no biggie.

I've since went through and darkened and translucified( It's a word http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif ) the webs and reshaped them and used lots of smaller ones, though they still lok like cob webs. "Cobwebs" were sort of the best I could do with doga now(they are irregular parts, ears, noses, rocks, ect. with the "net 1" texture, it leaves a see through gap in between the strands), but I think the new web look is better. Also I've played around with the "live" race pic, see what you think and post your comments as to where I can improve.

I think I can do better with the "face" the fangs are hardly noticeable, I may make them a lighter shade of grey. The "dead" pic will be translucent, like I said so you can see "stuff" inside it and more a lighter grey.
[EDIT]I forgot, for troops I was think of that for the basic infantry, one of those with mechanical arms for the light troop and, you know the Protoss Dragoons from Star Craft? I'll make a mechanical bottom half and add stuff on that for troops bigger than medium, like a scorpion tail or something, Like those Cyborg Reaper things from Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun: Firestorm.

bump. I got the "Dead" race model done, most of the combat classes, the bases, the baseships, the colony ships, the fighters, the drone, the satellite, the mine, I'm doing the Worldship now. All that's left is the barge, resorce ships and the flag. how do you want the flag and the missiles to look?

Troops...I geuss undead for some and others would have prosthetic or transfered(ie from a corpse) limbs...
Info on my mod can be found in my Vectorian mainframe thread... bur a quick list of features planned for an Alpha that Computer God willing, should be out soon:
-Undead, Omnipotent, and parasitic racail traits.
-The Religious trait is split in two, a Light(defensive) and Dark(offesnive).
-Primitives and if im motivated enough Pirates and Nomads.
-A slew of new components for the base tech tree.

don't know why light has to be defensive. justice, after all, includes the concept of capital punishment.
justice - just. getting what that person deserves, good or bad. so, the dark tech would be indrescriminate and the light tech would be specific. neither of those should be played by players who can't role-play.

Its a mod aimed towards roleplayers.
True justice can be offensive, but this represents that good is never the agressor, justice only reacts in responce to evil.

Your Azlokians will be done by tomorrow. I thought I was done, but I forgot to make the "carrier" class. once they're finished I just got to do all the portraits and the mini's. Sorry it's taken so long, but there about to be completed. Do you have an AI ready?

As for the racial traits, Kodos is giving these guys it's the Necromantic trait(zombies).
