Oh no!!!!
I really hate this!!

Should we restart???
Some players have gotten a huge starting planet without the right atmosphere, giving them 5 facilities instead of 15. We have all started close to eachother, that was not meant to be. If you like, check the forum on the PBW game page and discuss this. If we do restart it will be all medium starting planets and my wife will manually pick the strating locations. We do not have to withdraw or reupload empires. I can fix it so that the next turn sent out is a new turn 1 on a new map, without you having to do anything. Mail me or discuss it at the PBW game forum page in the tread RESTART.

Oh, I think I'm cursed as a host!!!

Ruatha: You are not a cursed host. You are a GREAT Host!!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Only a great host would care enough about those playing to make sure that things are going well and everyone is enjoying the game.

Keep on keeping on...Greybeard

as an example of placing 20 players with systems in between:
(If we start with three planets most will have two starting systems and so lesser space between neighbours)

Well, I started in a corner, and have other empires in two adjoining systems. So I say we should restart.

I've made a randommap with 200+ systems in FQm and my wife has placced out the starting positions.
Everyone has atleast 4 systems between themself and their neighbours.

We are 20 players, we want a huge galaxy 2-3000 planets, 255 systems. As loong as possible between players starting and equal amount of planet types and athmosphers, starting points marked manually.

Can you fix something like that?
You can give a text description of the map here but you can't show it to me or anyone in the game.

I restarted now.
I hope everyone is better off than before.

Rutha you are doing great. Need proof just look at the train wreck that "NGC: Proportions" has turned out to be, my bald spot has gotten considerably bigger that Last couple of days, however it will be fixed soon. Maybee tonight, if I get the responses back in time.

Ruatha,
you are great as a host. Its not your fault that the setup routine is not very good, to say the least.
In fact, your care for the game and your efforts to correct the problems as fast as possible show that you are an excellent host. Thank you for that, and I surely don't mind starting in any new game that you will be hosting!

What is this...a mutual admiration society? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Let me get into this. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

CapnRR and Ruatha, you are both great hosts. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

You care. You are open about the problems that occur. And work your butts off to make it work.

Can't ask for anything more. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Ahh, it warms me old heart, it does http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

CaptRR>, been there, done that. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif
I'm at work now for the next 32 hours so I can't do anything to my emmpire in NGC:prop, if you should need me to reupload or anything like that..

Gryphin > Thanx, but not right now.
If I'll start a NGC4 sometime in the future I'll post for a map first I think.

I should have said this earlier, but I also think Ruatha is doing a great job. He shows that he has what really matters - he really cares about being a good host. And it shows in the effort he has put into making the game run smoothly.

Mahalo,
Slick.
