I know for a fact that the Cuckleheeds are on PBW - I just downloaded them the other day. The Kzintis/Miraks, Legos, Chaos, Panije, Ming, and EDF are floating somewhere in the Old Forums/SEIV Shipsets limbo. I can send my scouts out after them later today (unless someone beats me to the punch).

Tell you what, I will do a rerender of the Lyosion Empire soon and send it to you.
And don't worry about the galactic Command, it was a piece of crap. I could revisit it, but it would be pointless as hadrian's Aleskander House Sector uses the same design concept for its ships.

ZeroAdunn, Your turian race is now on the racelist.
There is some problems that must be solved to make the race useable : some portrait files are called "protrait", sothey won't work in SE IV...
The general.txt comes from the breen race (the breen name is written on the first line).
What about the old turian commonwealth race ? I've been unable to find it ?
About the Galactic command : I only believe what I see, you can call me Saint Thomas...
About pyrochette : the race has been created by Yith Saulker and is included in the TDM modpack, isn't it ?

Trooper, the racedir lists the Ur-quan as "Last seen on Usy and TdM. No link known". I have them on my HD. I also have the Chaos Legion.
Would the zips be useful to you? I've been through the rest of the list and can't help with any more of your "unknowns".
Finally, an appeal to everyone else for the sake of my own (more limited) race dir:
I'm aware that the Adamant mod, Blackstar Nexus, Chillian, pirates, moonbeams and Pandorans need to be added to the list of neo-standard sets and mods (http://www.sandman43.fsnet.co.uk/neostandlist.htm), but otherwise, if you you have a neo-standard compliant shipset or mod that isn't listed on this site (http://www.sandman43.fsnet.co.uk/neostandlist.htm), please let me know. I'm updating soon and would like to catch everyone. Thanks.

Dogscoff, you should probably change the location of the Ultimate Mod on that page, as se.org is kinda dead. Also, it isn't really a massive mod. B5 Mod, Proportions, P&N, Devnull, etc. have more modifications than the Ultimate Mod does (esp. the B5 Mod, with comps file of over 4 MBs! and lots of races in it), so having its description say it is "absolutely massive" is a misnomer.

You are correct about the Pyrochette, however, there were three Versions, there was one with a different race portrait, and another that was gray instead of brown/tan.
I do have a tendancy to label things protrait for some reason, I don't know why I do that....
Anyways, the Galactic Command (G) is gone. I no longer have the finished shipset, nor do I care to pull the files out of storage and rerender them.
The old turians to which you reffer is actually the new turians, the ones I uploaded recently were the old turians, I labeled the other shipsets turians simply for lack of a better name. The ships you ask about though are being used as the basis for another shipset though, so they will be rerealesed sometime in the future.

Yes, the "Ultimate Mod" was never released, just a "Preview" If the Ultimate mod had everything Hadrian said it was going to have, then yes, it was probably the Ultimate mod, if it just continued in the form of the Preview, then it was far from ultimate.

Thanks dogscogff, I 've asled phoenix D to host it, that way it will gain notoriety.
I have many shipset on my HD indeed, but i would be unable to tell how many (about 70, I think). Everything is mixed in several Versions of SE IV or in external folders, or it's still in zip format. It's a real mess. I'll have to create a CD with all that stuff clearly arranged one day.
So I don't own all the shipsets that are previewed on the racedir; Andres have sent me many preview pics I was unable to find, and I grab some directly from the zip file without copying it to my computer.
I have in project to get all shipsets on a cd, to prevent them from disapearing when a site close (the death of SE.org has given me a lot of work to find all shipsets that were available on it).
But it's a huge and neverending task, as a new shipset or new Version of a old one comes out every week.
ZeroAdunn : about turians : COMWEALTH and TURIAN are the same race, you confirm ? I will change that on the racedir.
About "protrait" : Maybe the first signs of dyslexie ? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif I'm used to writing "thaht" instead of "that", I don't know why too.
Anyone else owns this mysterious "G" race ? (I've got to ask to my Last hope, Andres; he's going to hate me, being sollicited every two days for another shipset) Well, I'll have to put the "L.I.A." status on it. One more I couldn't save from oblivion...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">In that case, I'll host them. It's a great set that deserves a place in the sun. Do you mind if I rename the sats as I suggested? It will probably mean they get more exposure.

Yeah, go ahead and change the names if you want.
First explain to me why the change was made- did I goof or did you change the standard on me? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Sooner or later I'll get round to requesting the same change of all mods.<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">There is at least 1 mod you don't have to worry about. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
EDIT: Over 150 races installed now, Fyron. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have a lot of races installed in regular SE4 that I never found Gold Versions for and was too lazy to convert to Gold myself... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif
Trooper:
I am using the Race Dir page to get more shipsets. I click on a link to go find the set for download. When I hit back, it takes me back to the main SOTAS page and not to the Race Dir page. I don't know why it is doing that, but it is annoying. Any way you could fix it?
Also, can you eliminate all links to Shrapnel uploads pages, and replace them with direct links to the files? I could not find the Brachyura or Corrian set from those links....
Could you please remove the read-only attributes of all ship sets hosted on SOTAS, such as the Federal Union? There is no reason for them to have that attribute, and it makes downloading a new Version more difficult than necessary.
You missed the Kobaia shipset, which is in the PBW file library.
The Nloam sample pic is missing the smiley next to it indicating it has a preview page on SOTAS.
The page for the Nu'Wam Partnership has no images, nor a download link.
The Vasudan set is on this page, not where you have it linked: http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/Forum25/HTML/000017-5.html

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">THere was no standard for additional sat images when you made the set- you were the first.
Now there is mlmbd's ++ standard which includes the extra sats but names them differently to the way you did. He's already released (at least) 2 compatible sets, and I'm working on a third.
ALl we have to do now is get modders to alter their mods to use the images- just have satellitesmall, satellitemedium, satellitelarge sat as the primary image and satellite as the secondary for all of them. THat way the mod stays fully backward-compatible but supports extra images. The same thing can be done for mines and drones.

Hey, Trooper -- I just ran afoul of a bad link in the Directory.
Y'see, I got ALL excited when I read that there was a "Dark Pyrochette" ... I rather like the Pyrochette ships, and the thought of a DARKER set like that, well ... let's just say, I wasted no time rushing over and downloading it.
Unfortunately, the link doesn't point to the DARK Pyrochette, but rather, to the NORMAL Pyrochette.
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif
Look for yourself, the two links you have for Pyrochette at SGIF are the same.
Hopefully someone can point you (and, therefor, ME) to the right place to get the Dark Pyrochette. I really want them, especially as I'm getting more and more into playing team games ... and being able to have myself and my partner use the same basic shipset, just in different colors, would be QUITE nice, IMO. 8)
BTW, in general -- I'm glad to see you're making a home for those shipsets that had become un-hosted. It'd be a shame to see the diversity of SE4 shipsets start to decline ...

Good. Now go finish the KanesS why don't you...
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Working on it now. I think I've just finished up the Last of my "pixels for hire" race portraits too, so I have no other distractions.
Well, almost no distractions...
Anyway, I just posted a bunch of new pics today. Once I've done small weapons platform (working on it now) there will be enough images to start a game using the KanesS and not see any generic images at all.

Fyron : Kobaia is a clone of Aquilians, nethertheless I've added them, just for info.
- corrected the link on Vasudian.
- Added the "kobol" from PBW.
-Warned Katchoo for Nu'Wan pb.
- Still don't understand your browsing pb, what navigator do you use (I DON'T support Netscape) ?.
Dogscoff : also added Clukruk republic

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That's exaclty my way of thinking. But time is fighting against me, it's very hard to find some shipsets indeed.
Dark pyrochette is an example : unable to find it at the moment (Andres, Fyron... ?)
If you want to play in teams with the same race in different colors , I would suggest you use Jraenar stock race, it exists in four colors.(see Green Yellow, Orange, Purple Lizards). Or you can create your own fleet.
ZeroAdunn : finally got the modified G race from Andres. With a light race portrait (I saw a lot of them in zip files recently, who owns the rights ?), it could make a suitable race ("white and pure" concept, or neutral race). May I host it ?

Good news for you, Pax : the Dark Pyrochette is now available on SOTAS : http://diesel2035.free.fr/hosted/pyrochettedark
Some resize work has been done on the pics, because they all have the same size in the original Version. Author remains unknown.
A big thanks to Andres for the original race he've sent to me.
If if you have other shipset requests, you can try your luck here.
Trooper thank you again for your excellent and huge work. I thought I had already most races but thank to your work I realized how many more are out there and where I could get them.

Okay, those ships aren't identical to the standard Pyrochette, but they're very very close. 8)
Now, if I can figure a way to take THOSE fairly monochrome ships, and just tweak the palletes, I might be able to have a whole set of "same ships, different colors" shipsets. Whee!

Dunno. As there is a "target="new" attribute on the links, a new window should be opened when you click on a link <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You need a _ in front of new. It should be "Target="_new"". Otherwise, it can confuse IE, as it looks for an existing frame named new. When it fails to find it, it makes a new frame in a new window. The "_" tells the browser that this will definitely be a new frame, not an existing one. This might be what causes the problem. Or it could be something else.
The Pyrochette were a race on the SE Universe Ladder run by Grand Mausic Yith Saulkar. I am fairly certain that Yith Saulkar (take out his title) was the author of the Dark Pyrochette set.

If you haven't seen them before, maybe it's because I'm looking for races that can't be found anywhere indeed...
I've added lot of stuff in the latest weeks, but I'll have to slow down now, because I'm going back to work, after seven months being unemployed. So there will be less "new" material on the site. My current priority is to complete the starship race.
Fyron : I had forgotten about the "target="_new" attribute when I made the race dir, but it would be an interesting feature to set, with an automatic replacement method, of course (about 250 links to update...) !
Dogscoff : Can you send me Ur-quan, please ?
Recent shipset authors : By the way, is there any new shipset I could have missed in the racedir ?

There are a number of free graphics editors out there. One example is http://www.openoffice.org/, which is a free, open source suite like MS Office. It has Versions of Word, Excel, Power Point, and the graphics programs that MS Office comes with (though I think they are designed better, as MS is not good at graphics http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ).
