Everything old is new again... I remember some playing in some pretty savage multi-player Empire games in college. Who says you have to have head-blowing 3D graphics to have fun? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

I too am a long time Empire Deluxe fan. I haven't played it in a long time though, and when I read this thread I decided to look for my copy. Well after turning my computer room upside down, I found it *Whew!*
Wow, it's really messy here now...

I remember burning an entire pot of my X's pea soup. She should have seen it then and never married me.
Hm, If I have my disks they would be in my mothers basement with Pazer Blitze and my other card borad and miniaturs games
Can't wait.

ED ruled! Go figure I lost my disks ages ago. One of the things I liked playing with was giving myself combat bonus 3 and the computers production bonus 3. Made for some interesting campaigns... and REALLY high body counts. I remember one game I had destroyed just over 2000 infantry and nearly 1000 armor.
Perfect General was fun to play against my brother.

I bought it today. It could never replace SEIV but you can play it and drivk wine at the same time.
(sorry Slynky, that's why my turn was so slow).
The game does require the abilty to optimise:
Concentration of Effort
Ecconomy of Force
Flexiblity
Suprise against humans.

Maybe you and I should try a PBE game to test it out?

Sounds good.
Do you use Yahoo Messenger?
If you want to communicate that way please do.
My direct email is:

I'd suggest going through a few test games before we start.
Be careful. The "One More Turn" syndrome is a strong as it ever was with the original.

I have the game, and am running a test on it now. I must have generated a pretty sparse world, since I have explored about 20% of it and found only 10 cities and no computer players yet!
I'll e-mail you in about a week to trade ideas about map set-up and other parameters.
BTW, anybody else interested?

Anyone else pick up Empire Deluxe? Anyone else enjoying it as much as I am?
Please PM me if you like or write to me:

This is one fine game.

Existing Comunity including Yahoo Groups, Easy Board Forum and a Ladder.
All Graphics Can be modded
Easy to use Map Editor
EAsy to use Senario Editor
Fast Play. Turns can't take an hour.
(that is not a typo).
It is not as complex as SEIV but it is a lot of fun to play (and you can save the turn and come back to it).
EDIT:
Bonus: Bugs? If there are any I have not seen them reported after a week of play.
Try the demo guys. It is not nearly as exciting as the real thing.
