Alrighty, so my coding instincs are taking off and I have the desire to learn to mod. I have one in mind, and I'm wondering what I need to learn to do before I actually try and go about it. Any good resources?

The best way to learn to mod is to take an existing mod and then play around with it.
As a bonus, if you break something, you can always ask the modder that made it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Did you mean mod the game or the AI?

If it is the game definately follow Ruathas advice.
Then download and install the modding program.

If you mean the AI then well, that is beyond me.
