Well, you can do it, Gryph. I trust you.
You can just gen the map and let the starting points fall where they may if you want.
But, no objections to someone else doing it....

Maybe you wanted to know when I would get moving on the game.
Ok, by Noon my time I will have all of the system names ready for Geo to use to make a
Dence Threaded Spiral
Max of 120 systems.
Place 4 starting positions
I was thinking. What would happen if two of the same AI were used? Would it mess up the game? I would love to see two United Floral in the same game. You would never know if you were fighting one or both untill you found their homeworlds.
Anybody know?
Anybody want specific system names in this game?

Yes, Slynky, I have followed your post. I have focused on capturing planets for my because I have a tough time with killing millions even though they are just a bunch of ones and zeros.
That is one of the reasons it is noteworthy that I glassed planets in the game where mentaly I was crushing my X.

So we can take on two splinter Groups of United Floral. Slynky, how about it?

From the Ministry of Dissin Information
Colonization Progress
We have received a brief communiqué from the colony ship CG III 0001
The intrepid colonist renamed it “The Future”
I am very pleased to say “The Future” warped through the worm hole right on schedule to the system Deadness where they were set upon by ugly organic beings in little one being Fragile Integrated Groping Hideous Trashy Ergonomic Rats. We will call them fighters.
The valiant captain managed to ram all 12 of the fighters.
The Future’s luck ran out when they were sucked into a huge hole in space never to be heard from again. In their passing we have learned how to deal with the fighters and what systems to avoid.
If you have any questions please refer to an exact copy of this report at the Central Information Bank.

That works for me. I hope you can get out of 3rd place. I'd consider a Non Agression agreement between us while we deal with our respective AI.

May 16th, 2003, 01:06 AM
Since victory conditions are that you have phun then I encourage you onward.
We recently had phun with the Torons. We sent two brave Fighter Fraggers through the warp point just as one of their light cariers was coming through. Took out 28 of their fighters but the Last remaining finished off the second fragger.
I wonder how a fleet will do against the Phuns.

Well, we are NOTHING if not heartless. As a matter of fact, we ARE heartless. Our organic makeup has eliminated the need for hearts. Besides the obvious savings on pacemakers, it provides untold amounts of freedom from guilt. Therefore, we can slaughter species like it was the greatest of fads without so much as a twitch in our heartstrings (oh, we don't have heartstrings either http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif )

Phamily Phun is important. I have to try and balance my fun.
Cosmic bowling? Well, it starts after 10 pm. The alley turns off all the lights and turns on the black lights. Turn on the spinning globes, swirling spotlight (think: dance club), has "tracing lights" down the ball return shoots, and they crank up the music (techno/dance). There are some lights but mostly just black lights. I'll have to snag a pic next time (if possible). It's pretty kewl though I'm a bit old to be there...all those teenage guys with their "slinky" girlfriends (about half of them "gothed out"...yes, people "goth" in Georgia... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ).
I know you're planning more surprises for me. But, you might need more than the 27 ships in "Bare it All"...(sly grin).
But, seriously speaking, still touch-and-go for both of us.

27? in Bare it All, How do you know I don't have more?
How good are your scanners?
I have a lot of suprises though have to admit your scrapping of 75 LCs is not exactly part of my strategy. Just don't tell the High Tesselate. He thinks we are working together to keep ship inventory under control.

I scrambled to study ships and PPB after that...as you can see, I got to LC with PPB 2's before they had to rush off to war.
When I missed that turn, the dumb AI moved all my fighters away from the warp holes I need to guard. In the south, it just so happens "Weed Boy" came through with 17 ships right after they got back in place but were out of fuel. So, he took a few losses but made it through the hole. Talk about scrambling! These days, I keep about 6 ships down there and he sends 3 or 4 ships through every turn. Needless to say, I'm getting a well-trained fleet down there. Since he lost so many ships, he bomards me with treaty offers every 2 turns. Usually something about needing to "share the light"... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Paradise should be anything but a paradise after the battle with yor 72 ships. I'll subtract 20 (or so) ships due to them being support. So, call it 52 ships. Against my 18 and satellites. There are more satellites there, though.
One weird turn of events...I was lucky to check the "stack" as I saw your fleet building and noticed I didn't have a talisman on board. They couldn't have hit a turd in a punchbowl. But now, it's there. I figure my satellites can kill 7-8 ships per combat round.
It should be a good fight.
Battleships are in the yards, though!

Well, you don't have 70 "Expendables" in one location. They are split up. So, in that case, I think I can.

Having troubles invading the Flower Chidren? Other than being the toughest AI they are just a bunch of pansys. Sheesh,
Well, I'll tell ya what.
I'll tell ya what, With the exception any system beyon "Universe" I will not enter any space you consider yours for 20 turns. You can take your fleets from the worm holes to attack the Flower Power.
Note: I consider all of space Mine so we can't use that definiiton.

I'm off to Kentucky to install another server (and some workstations). Depending on time (and if a turn is ready), I'll do the turn from there.

Ok, I'm back in the saddle, (you don't want to know where I was, (trust me))
I'll have 2 turns in tonight.
Sorry about the delay.

ROTFLMAO
I finaly get the guts up to "Recycle" some obsolete ships by sending the through the warp point and it is undefended?
You are wide open, WTF?
BTW: I'm not laughing at you. I'm amused at myself for taking so long to take the plunge only to find the door unguarded.
Now, what do i do with my other 200 ships?

As to that door, to some system called "Dead...." something or other, well, it's not a place we like to be anyhow. However, the other "doors" are guarded well. You might as well forget that "Expendables" idea...hehe. Of course, it is a good name... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

I see you've been having some extreme fun (in secret, of course http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ).
BTW, I don't think there's much you can do in a stock game that can keep you from being seen, is there? Unless you can become a mine...hehe.

Are you asking me or the forum?
My minister of Dissin Information says our XXX hard core Cloaking system will be implemented shortly.
We don't know how you are spying on our ships but they will dissapear shortly.

No real witty retort springs to mind.
(although I AM wondering just how you plan to scrap all those ships)

Scrap? Did I say "Scrap"? I don't think so. I Wonder how good your spy sats are. That is what you are using isn't it?
One turn you will be able to see my fleets, the next turn you won't. It is that simple.
To paraphrase Kamchack,
"I am a Gryphn, I have a plan"
EDIT:
Reguarding limits on being scene:
From the FAQ
5.9.7 To see a cloaked (level X) ship, you only need 1 kind of sensor (hyper optic, tachyon, gravitic, temporal, psychic) level X in the system. This sensor can be on any of your ships or sat’s, your ally’s ship’s or sat’s (even the ship/sat that is cloaked!!!). This does not take into account storm/nebula effects.

Location: The planet farthest from Phun Phed Phace
Date: 60-th Turn
A meeting of the very highest of the high is taking place
The attendees all communicating in muted vibrations, (aka whispers)
Servant 1 to Servant 2 – Why are they all mutting? The enemy is 20 warp points from here they could never infiltrate this far.
Servant 2: They think it is cool
Location: A secrete place nobody but nobody knows about, (not even the people present)
Secret person #1: Sir, we have problems
Secret person #2: What kind of problems
Secret person #1: The enemy knows how many ships we have
Secret person #2: Sorry, That’s not my department
Secret Person #1: What is your department
Secret Person #2: Sorry, that’s a secrete
Secret Perons #1: Were are we
Secret Person #2: Sorry, that’s a secrete
Secrete Person #1: What can you tell me
Secret Person #2: Sorry, that’s a secrete
Secret Person #1: Who should I talk to, no wait, don’t tell me, that’s a secret.
Secret Person #2: Sorry, that’s a secrete
From the ministry of Dissin Information
The bad news: The enemy knows how many ships we have.
The good news: The we are going to recycle lots and lots of them so they won’t know how many ships we have
The bad news: A lot of our brave people are going to die
Good news. We will soon achieve cloaking level XXX. Now no children will be able to see us. Nothing in the known quadrant can see through it except adults and we know the Phun Pheds don’t have any.. (we hope)
If you have any questions please ask for an exact copy of this
Thank you and have a good day http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
Where are we?
Secret Person #2: Sorry, that’s a secrete

Ya know, "Flower Boy" is starting to REALLY be a pain! As if it's not tough enough fighting his Talisman AND his Organic crap, I had to do some crop-dusting on a fleet of over 25 ships (mostly battlecruisers) ships of his down south. I think I need to mount some Ortho on my ships.
When I saw the combat file of nearly 50K, I thought it was you attacking. You should have seen how long it took PBW to process the darn turn!

From the office of Dissin Information
The Tessellate Empire is in Violation of the Gryphin Convention
The Millette Tary Minnister, (MT Blun Der Puss), and the Re Search Minister, (MT Know Nada), conspired to use Boarding parties against the Torons.
First the Millette Tary Minister setup clandestine camps to train the boarding parties. He then had built specialized ships with compartments to aid these mis guieded troops in there savage assaults on the Torons.
Then the Re Search Minister Ana Lyzed the captured ships.
Our Great Leader Gryphin never knew anything about these plans. He appolgies to the Torons and the Phun Phederation
The Millette Tary Minister says he “forgot”. The Re Search Minister says “he didn’t know and was only following orders.
In order to compensate for these gross violations of this noble treaty the Tessellates will voluntarily:
Fire on All captured ships, (the will not be scraped)
Retro fit all ships with boarding parties
Send all boarding parties to re hab, (they will make good ground up troops)
Finish current research projects and then not do any research for 5 months. (It will take us that long to find a new Research Minister)
