Sorry, just in the mood.
In all their incredible genious, MicroShaft (Outlook) will send you a read receipt for a message that you have sent to yourself, confirming, for your curiosity, that you just read the message.
Now, you may be asking, "Why would you send a message to yourself?" Well, one way is to address a message to a distribution list upon which your name appears. And, Micro$ollars will not have enough sense to remove your name from the recipients.
(OK, I'm done) (sorry)

If I'm surfing at a terminal away from home (like I am now) and I find a link I want to keep, I will send it to myself via Juno WebMail, and read it at home. It saves paper and time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

It's a non issue. The code does not care where the message goes, only that it is flagged for a RR.

If you want to rant on MicoXoft, then take a look at the apps that won't run on Server2003. Add that to the fact that 2K+3 has a new non compatable Version of AD, and we have some job potential in IT again http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Know why? 'Cause you and my LAN manager are locked in battle in KOTH and BOTH struggling with BS server OS's from M$. Of course, we are in the government and, therefore, march about 2 years behind everyone else (we're working on AD and Server 2K).

The State Agency I am with is just beginning to make preparations for a migration
from NT to AD of some flavor or another. The db issues will probably mean that we go with 2K, the rest of our systems are already running 2K. We also use Citrix, so it is almost a given that it will have issues with 03. It has issues with everything else. I run an AD domain here at home, and have been trouble free for over a year.

And to top it off, conVersion from Exchange 5.5 to E2K. Ugh. Can't tell you how many tickets had to be burned with M$.
Of course, struggling with that kind of crap all week is the reason, IMHO, why one sees so many IT people in the profiles here... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

If it was not for Micro$ponge and HP I would be selling men's shirts in Filenes, (a department store).
What is "AD"
We migrated from Banyan Vines and Win 95 Last year to NT and exchange.
This year we migrated from Win 95 to NT and 2k and Ecch 2k this year.
I support 120 desktop Users
I don't handle network or exchange stuff.

Thanks for the heads up on 2k3. I haven't even started playing with it yet. Knowing M$, as we all do, it should have been expected to not work with x,y, or z. I was going to migrate my home AD/E2k domain over when my new Dell server arrived (minus OS), but I guess I'll wait for now.

Thank you for illustrating why I've a game design and not a computer science student.
Yes, I may miserably fail to make cash as a games designer, but I won't have to handhold 100 lUsers...

Gee, I don't understand.... I went to the local 2k3 launch event and M$ assured me that everything was going to come up roses on this one. Surely you don't mistrust M$. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
