In order for the TDM races to play by their scripted AIs - do I need to hand set them each before a game (in the race selection screen) or can I start the first turn and then set AIs "on" and they will use their TDM AIs?

Thanks

J

Don't know if I understand well the question... The AIs will use their AI files installed on their directory, whatever game turn is running. There is no memory in AI management, only a global situation of colonies and politics.

The race setup is only determined when the game is begun. But, you can overwrite the AI files for any AI and it will begin acting differently right away in your game. You might have to exit and reload the game for all changes to take effect, but most (such as research options, ship designs) are read dynamically and so will change whenever the game reads the AI files to make decisions.

If the first player is the computer, then I think it might miss a turn, but I am not sure.

If the first player is the computer, then I think it might miss a turn, <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes that first 'empire' will lose a turn UNLESS you do the turn for it.
