Yes, I messed with some file somewhere. But everything in the Ai folder is there, everything in the Pictures/Races/raceblah folders is there. Most importantly, Default_AI_Settings.txt is there. What could cause this?

Pretty clear error..except for part of the top seems missing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif
One of your AI text files is missing those particular lines..probably because you imported a Classic AI into Gold.

Negative, I've only played with Gold. I *may* have tossed some TDM AIs in the wrong spot, but I don't think that they would be harming anything -- right? Just grab everything under Pictures/Races and toss it in SE4 folder? What do you mean by the top is missing? I alt-prtscr'd, so it gave me a shot of the active window.

When I get that message it tells me what race folder had the problem. Then again my path is a lot shorter.
You might have an old Version of TDM..what Version are you using?

Do you have the 1.84 patch installed?
The error message should include more subfolders than that. I have never seen it not show the race folder. You might want to consider reinstalling SE4 into a folder such as: C:\Games\SE4 or something short, so it won't want to cut off subfolder names. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Yes, it is 100% sure indication you have a non-Gold AI. Check them out !

TDM-ModPack 3.30 (Gold Version)
As for the AIs...bah! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif That message comes up a dozen times, probably the same number of AI players. I'm going to reinstall, since I'm much wiser in the ways of tweaking the game than I was say, 2 weeks ago when I first installed.

No, just one nonGold AI is enough http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
When AI setup races, it goes through all race folders for each race it add ! I know, it is hard to explain or understand, but that's how it works. Just add one nonGold race into fully perfect Gold directory and you will see those massages dozen of times.

Once you find which AI is causing the problem, step-by-step instructions for converting it to Gold are linked in my sig.

Thanks capnq http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif . I'm running off of a clean install right now, and trying to merge TDM+FQM+P&N+bits of EyeCandy.

The problem appears to be that I've found the absolute latest Version of the Vandron shipset+AIs that I can find, but Vandron_AI_Construction_Units.txt is MIA. Following the instructions in your sig...

Antra: Make sure that any AI_construction_Unit file has a line at the top about "Percentage of Resources To Reserve For Unit Construction := X" where X is a number. Ran into that myself with an AI missing that line.

Will do. Still doesn't help the fact that the supremely awesome Vandron shipset has NO AI_Construction_Units.txt http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Do as I do...get permission to copy another and modify that one for the Vandron http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Any suggestions? By default they're a peaceful, honorable, religious race who breathes vaccuum http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif .

Well, for that particular file I don't believe it really matters but if it does, I recall the TDM Narn to be religious, honorable (not sure how peaceful tho' ).

Well, how about "friendly" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif . I'll copy over the Narn traits.

Turns out it was the AI_Settings, but I forgot to follow an earlier poster's advice and shorten the names. I mean I did, just Program Files/SE4, but the name of the mod directory was too long. It was indeed AI_Settings, and I copied the Abbidon because they had the same Personality Group settings. I now realize that, in the absence of such things as AI_Construction_Units, the default AI files will be used. So this worked. Thanks everyone! I've learned a lot http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif .
