Here are some ideas(some utterly insane) that I dont have enough time to do myself(yet) but would gladly help anyone who makes any of them ^_^
-The Cthulhu Mythos/H.P. Lovecrafts works
-Transformers(Lol...Optimus Prime is in Iraq though...)
-Halo/Marathon

I'm currently blocking out on paper a "Highliner" mod, which I will start hammering out the data files for when I get back from vacation. The basic idea is that only huge mother ships can make jump transits, and they carry warships that do most of the actual fighting. I'm making a few tweaks in other tech trees to fit into this general idea (colony pods, stellar manip, etc). It may be a few weeks before I have a beta Version ready - and I may be looking for a few guinea pigs/volunteers who might want to try this out via PBW...

Problem is, there aren't exactly an abundance of alien races in Red Dwarf, one of the premises of the show being that life is singular to Earth... of course, after 3 million years of evolution we've seen some interesting life-forms pop up from a cat, Lister's socks, genetic experiments (Gelfs and Polymorphs), AI's, etc. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

homeworld. only motherships are big enough for colony mods, so porportions style growth and motherships and carriers are the only way of projecting power. planets can build with all three resources, motherships with two, carriers with one. one, maybe radioactives, is needed for frigates, corvettes and fighters. org. and rad. for capitol ships and carriers, all 3 for motherships. maybe finite resources with planet having resources from star facilities.
