I don't know what I did, but I now get Ai errors when I load up any game. I wish I could copy/paste the errors. But it is all errors for AI settings.

Humm, what did I do *shrug*

AI errors are caused by changes to the data files that no longer correspond with AI files or most likely by older AIs that are not updated for the latest Version of Space Empires. See if you can specify which AIs are acting up and if you can find a more updated Version for them.

are you playing one of the mods and added races not from that mod? actually you could be having the same problem but reversed. added modded races to basic game.

I wish the game would let me copy/paste it.

But it has the path to the SEIV folder, then says something like 'Can not find field "Ships can't move through mine fields" in record "Settings"'.

All the errors point to the record "Settings", the only thing I can think of doing recently is getting some race files.

I sent you an email. But here is the link you need (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=007158) again.

There were some additional entries to the end of [RaceName]_AI_settings file added in several patches for SE:IV Gold that your races do not have. Like I suggested before, try and find updated Versions for these races, or if unsuccessful in that approach, copy and paste the missing lines from the default AI files!

I guess the thing that confused me, was the fact that I just downloaded the file from PBW because someone else was using that shipset. So I just deleted the AI files. I am still new to PBW games, so I didn't quite get it why my game would worry about the AI of a race I do not play.

I am slowly but surely getting it.

Thanks again friends

ALL FIXED!!!

The link cybersol sent me did the trick, the only thing was it took forever to nail down which race file it was. The race viewer helped alot (as far as tracing down the setting.txt and reading them to see if they are up to date).

Thank you for all your help!
