I am very suprised that no one posted a poll as to who would win the finals. I didn't think about it until just now so here it is. Who will win tonights game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. (Game starts in about 45 minutes)

I personally want the Ducks to win it, it will be tough for them to as it is in NJ. But I'm going for the underdog! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Blech; It's no fun when there aren't any Canadian teams on it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

If anybody should win the Stanley cups, it should be the devils. That way we can snatch it up easily next year... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

After the Leafs got knocked out, I was hoping that Ottawa would make it to the final, but those darn Devils! I'm cheering for the Ducks tonight, they've earned it after beating Detroit and Dallas.

Does anyone know what happens if it is a tie?

What da ya mean it can't be a tie? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Like it goes on for 50 overtime periods, or whatever?

Everyone is exhausted, including the fans.

Postponed? Or a new game?

More bucks if is a new game.

Yeh, yeh, I know. More chance of there being a blizzard with 10 foot high drifts in Africa during the summer. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Aargh! The Devils have made it 1-0 - I sure hope that Anahiem comes back because they are being outplayed by quite a margin at the moment!

I lost all interest once Ottawa got knocked off. Plus, I don't find anything appealing (or watchable) about the Ducks or Devils. Seinfeld reruns are more appealing right now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

This was one of the most exciting series I remember in along time. Certainly better then those 4-1 series of the past or the 4-0 series. But for a finals to go to 7 games is truely amazing. especially considering you got a #1 seed against a #7. Plus you got two of the best goaltenders out there playing against each other. But all that is just my opinion of course. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

It was disappointing to see the Ducks go down but they have alot to be proud of. Jean-Sebastien Giguere really came out as the goaltender to become the next Roy and possibly even better. But all in all a truely epic and amazing playoff run both teams made. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

As for the Ducks & Devils, they just don't stir any interest for me. Maybe if Paul Kariya was still popping in nearly a goal a game like he was years ago i'd be more apt to watch, but a Final between 2 teams that traditionally have trouble scoring doesn't reel me in. Sure the goals picked up for both teams later in the Series, but too little to late (for me).

Unless Ottawa is involved in some way, i'll take the NBA Finals over the NHL Finals any day.

I didn't really start getting into hockey until this season. Before I would just keep track during the playoffs to see who won the Cup. So I still don't understand all the rules of Hockey but I'm slowly picking up on it.

But still, I look for the Ducks to be back next year and even tougher then they are now. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif But for now, on to the NBA! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Edit: typo.

Ugh. New Jersey won. Too bad Brodeur didn't get the props he deserves - 7 playoff shutouts is 3 more than any goalie has had before! Giguere also played very well and did deserve the Conn Smythe - first player since Ron Hextall in '87 to win the Playoff MVP on the losing team. I remember that series well!

Oh well. Anahiem won't be back to the finals for some time. They played well this Postseason, but I'd expect one of the Western conference powerhouses to exact revenge next year. Most likely Dallas.

Of course I would love to see the Leafs win, but I don't expect that to happen either. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif
