i'm looking for a tga converter, perferably free, perferably one known to work with freedom force. i've already found two that don't.

You could try searching on FileLibrary.com (http://www.filelibrary.com/); they maintain a large library of public domain, freeware, and shareware.

May I recommend The GIMP for all your image processing needs? It's like Photoshop, only it's free! www.gimp.org (http://www.gimp.org) make sure you get the Windows Version unless you've been running SE4 on Linux or something http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Irfan View doesn't read tga images very well for me.
