SE4 has not been ported to Mac, and as far as I know, it won't be...
SE4 is known to run under the windows emulator "WINE" in linux.

Apple used to be good, back in the 70s. But, they fell behind Windows, and have never come close to catching up.

I'd expect SE4 to run pretty well on a Mac in emulation mode, but I haven't tried it.

With the leaked specs on their new G5's, Apple might be catching up to PCs in general performance... even if they do still cost a helluva lot more. But they do still have that little problem of keeping everything proprietary...

Apple made Apple II, II+, III, etc. in the 70's and ran on ProDOS. They had a nice little package called AppleWorks )originally known as "3 Easy Pieces") with an integrated Word Processor, Spreadsheet, and DataBase.
Windows on the otherhand (obviously) is an OS. If you're comparing Windows to Mac OS, that (MacOS) didn't come out until the early 80's and did not run on an "Apple" but a "Macintosh".
And IMO, they did not 'fall behind'; they just held on tightly to their hardware ROM's and charged outrageous prices for the license to said ROM's. Whereas PC compatibles had low (or no) cost access to all ROM/BIOS/hardware code. That's why Windows was 'so much better'.
I can remember working in the Mac world in the early 80's and going to a Windows demonstration. They did a simple graphics copy and paste and the whole room went crazy! Wow!
Then Windows crashed - GPF! Yep, impressive all right...
MS is always 'catching up' with someone elses innovations. That doesn't mean it's wrong; just that it is the way it is...
And no, I havent touched a Mac in about 10 years... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

They are quite safe from the legal hassles going on with the Linux kernel rightnow.
