We want pictures of Geo! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

And the guy with the hair looks like the guy from American Choppers. (Discovery Channel series) You know the Mikey, the guy that is always sweeping the floor?

Any ways, nice seeing pictures, now only if there was a SEIV running demo. Oh by would they ever get attention then. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif And Lock and Load is a cool game too. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Aahhh, Well here is a short summary of our excursion to the Origins in Columbus and meeting the Shrapnel Crew...

We arrived and began our journey thru the various booths, games and some umm delicatly dressed up young fillies that were just hanging out all over the place, of course these Last were oogled, ah I mean checked out, er, looked at purely for Research data on the various aspects of their enlightening custums. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

One well dressed young lady was wearing only a set of chain mail (and thats all) of which may be seen on Richards update posting for day 2. Tim, after great soul searching, volunteered to have a picture taken with her for strictly research data on the various attributes of various armour that was used in the past years of warfare. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Now where was I, Oh, as we wandered thru the numberous booths and displays we came upon the Shrapnel site. Now, I imagined that the Shrapnel crew probably had numerous tatoos, wore blk leather, rode harlys and all had symbiote growths upon their upper torsos http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif . Weelll, I was wrong again. We met Tim, Richard, Annette and Mark and found them all to be the most gracious and friendly of people one would ever want to meet. It was a pleasure to talk with them and to discuss some of the aspects of their company, SE4 and their other games. It was a very enjoyable experience and a pleasure meeting all of them. I just wish we could have spent more time with them, maybe some day we can have a Shrapenl/forum/se4 get together. I did mention this to Richard and reminded him that we discussed this possibility in the past, with all of us crashing at his house, http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif but he sighed and said his home was just to small for all of us http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

We had a great time and we look foreward to meeting them all again, possibly at the convention later this summer in Indiannapolis.

just some ideas Mac

I actually thought of going over there too at first to drop in and meet everyone (and do a little side pushing of my own games perhaps if the opportunity presented itself), but realized I had too much stuff going on here, including working hard on my next project for Shrapnel. *sigh*

The pics posted are pretty funny. I like the cheesy smile on Tim's face in that pic "Someone's trying to get into trouble" and the one beneath it. A fitting revenge. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif And the Day 1 pic "Our fearless leader, dazed and confused" and boy does he look it. Columbus must be in another country or something. From DC it’s a six hour flight! I can fly to LA faster than that. Seriously, it only takes 7 hours to drive it, must not be much demand for flight from DC to Columbus. 3 hours or so and I was considering making a day trip of it, but 6 hours each way is not really doable..

They should move it to a city with good air conections, someplace like Atlanta.

Thermo, too late now but your best bet probably would have been to drive to Baltimore and fly southwest. They have a hop twice a day, a one hour flight and less then 100 bucks each way.

Colmbus is actually quite well known among air travellers as a good airport because of the large number of flights to and from and the relativly low fares. I guess direct between Columbus and DC is kind of sparse, but there are a bunch of airports around DC that do have direct flights to Columbus.

BWI, yek. I checked Dulles, Washington National, and Hagerstown. BWI is just awful for flying out of. No way to get to it by subway, and it’s a 90 minute drive. Not to mention what they charge to park within two miles of the terminal. I hate that airport, but what can you expect when a state like Maryland runs it. The security is a *****, less than two hours early and you could miss your flight. Dulles has the same security, but it takes half the time. Dulles is the closest one for me, twenty minutes by car. National is about an hour, but I can take the subway and not worry about parking the car. Hagerstown is the best, It’s about an hour by car, the parking is free and security knows me. I almost had a friend talked into taking me in his 182, but the Columbus forecast was not good for today and we both have to be at work on Monday. 182’s are good planes, but they are not the plane to be in when you have to work the weather. To small to go through it and to slow to go around. Oh well, such is life when you wait to the Last second to plan a day trip. I’ll just have to wait for the Geo report http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

LOL, The TSA! God save me from them. Being detained by a bunch of idiots who speak English as a second language is cruel and unusual punishment. They are really a pain in the butt.
It’s bad enough that I would set the detector off even if I was butt naked (Not to mention the mass blindness that would cause in the airport). I ran the battery down to zipp on my cell phone
while waiting out a delay in Atlanta. They wouldn’t let me take it on the plane because it
wouldn’t turn on, and my bags were already checked. Scratch one phone.

I could take the Marc, but it would be about a two and a half hour ride if the connections were
quick. BWI is on the Camden line and I’m on the Brunswick line. But I could walk to the train
from my house. I don’t know about the Camden line, But there is little if any weekend service
on the Brunswick side. And it’s all inbound in the AM and outbound in the PM.

Then again I could drive to the subway and take it to DC then take the train to from DC to
BWI and catch the plane. Hmmm....Sounds like a movie.

I think it all comes down to not waiting until Friday to decide to make the trip.

I also found some good flights on UsAirways from Reagan to Columbus. One hour nonstop flight. With UsAirways like most airlines though it's all about buying early and staying a couple days. No way I know of to get a fare in the hundred dollar range for a Last minute one day trip except Southwest.

I was thinking that I would find a flight on one of the commuter planes, but it looks like they
don’t do Columbus on the weekends. Two hours on a turbo prop is kinda of fun, the fly lower,
so you get to see a lot more of the country side.

If I had known that would be there, i'd have asked Geo to club the Trooper over the head and steal his armor for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

ahh, my good Tesco, of course I would have broken poor Richard's Camera, he took it after he was indulging himself in taking the photo of the young lady in the chain mail, I must say he did seem to take quite long in trying to get the camera set up http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif something about getting just the right angle http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif and since we came afterwords, the poor camera was still over heated and thus another close up was impossible http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

I must confess I'm the one to the left of the chair (left as in looking at your screen http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif )
A close up would most definitly send one's mental capacity above and beyond....

Your photo was very nice, however, You blocked access to the young fillie directly behind you, which you BLOCKED http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Its nice to see photos of Geo and the rest of you, now we can put faces to names, hmm, maybe we should have thread of members pics, or maybe Shranel could have a seperate photo spread on their site for the infamous forum members ?

Geo, sorry we couldn't meet at Origins, maybe next time, It would have been fun , ps, you didn't tell us if the minx with the chain mail was still around when you were there......

just some ideas Mac

Anyways, unless the armor came in a frozen state that I could put into the oven, I wouldn't be able to make it. I ain't no chef http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Here a picture mine with my son: MB and the Spiderman (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/newuploads/1057017336.jpg)
He forced me to purchase him a Spiderman costume... and need to keep one eye over him all the time (the Last time I found him trying to climb the wall of my house, ascending on the sofa!).

Maybe you shouldn't have taken him to see Spiderman then. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

But to be father is not an easy work, I think.
My father was too strict with me sometimes, and I'm not sure if it helped me to be a better person... then, have decided to give him freedom when think I can (for example, I don't allow him to try to kill me with a knife.... but I have not problems if he want to do it with his mohter! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif ).

Balance is the key my friend. Too much strictness is bad, but too much freedom is equally bad.

Hi all!

We've posted Joe Reimers pics (inlcuding the Stormtrooper) to the Origins page.

Joe, thanks for the pics!

Had a great time at the convention - and thanks to all who stopped by - it was great to meet all of you!
