I played a lot of VGA Planets III until I found Space empires IV Gold (wich is not very easy!). I like SeIV much better, but I miss the Races from Planets with their unique techs and ships and backgriound in SeIV so I thought about making a mod in wich this races would be included. I began to read the Star Wars thread but only a page as I have no time to read the 33 pages right now, but I will do. For now I just wanted to hear what you think and if anybody would like to join me...
I already wrote many pages with balancing and ideas and facilities. First I think this race should be included.

The Federation
The Klingon Empire
The Romulan Starempire
The Borg Continuum
The Dominium (wich wasn`t included in Planets 3)
The Galactic Empire
The Rebell Alliance
The Lost Colonies of Man
The Zylon Empire (you know that Robots with the red moving light)
The Crystals
The Privaters (wich I totaly forgot in all my plans !!!!!, remembered they right now *g*)
The Xenomorphs (to replace the Lizards perhaps, they should be a Zerg/Bugs/Tyranids mix, that means just organic)
I thought about including:
The Protoss
The Lizards (to keep it more classic)
A Race from Perry Rhodan perhaps (at least I heard this are popular books)
Do you think of any other main Sci-Fi races?
And yes I know about B5 but I think it wont really fit, and that the Federation blocks away the Terrans and the other races are just to unpopular (Naarn or so), at least from my sight.
I think about

This mod should only be for human players in PBW or PBeM and I am unsure if research should be possible.

The Zylon Empire (you know that Robots with the red moving light) <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif They are called the Cylons not the Zylon. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I have to admit that I have not heard of VGA before, can you post a link?

And any ideas you have for Facilities and such are always a good topic. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The Lizards where always may Favorites, not so powerful but that Hizzz mission generated mucho cash.
And I liked the look of their ships.

And there was this add on that gave their shiups the chameleon device, a T-rex battleship could pretend to be a small transport, guess if the opposition was surprised when they attacked?

I think the 150% damage bonus was much more important than the Hiss mission. And yes they where the best ground fighters and good miners. And the add on was nice but I dont know how to make that for SeIV.
