For whatever reason I didn’t think about this when posting yesterday but consider the following: what games won for best historical board game and best general board game?

Age of Empires III and Starcraft.

And both are what?

Ports of computer games.

Does that strike anyone else as odd that in a year of great, original board game designs the two winners are based on computer games?
