Suspected bug

Hi,

Encountered a strange thing in a game. I got a Leopard blown up by a lucky long range shot from an infantry RPG. After that all of a sudden one of my MMG's have "automatically" targeted the...

Re: Windows 7 *GUARANTEED* fix

Knew it was going to be confused - ignore and forget all about the stationary computer case - I mentioned that just because Imp jumped in and said I had the crawler fix installed already, and I...

Re: Windows 7 *GUARANTEED* fix

On my stationary computer (Vista system) it was like that for the Ncrawler thing - first a crash and then it worked..

On my laptop system (Win7) it worked from the beginning "as is", without any...

Re: Windows 7 *GUARANTEED* fix

Don't have any fix installed here. I got around all the early problems by buying the CD versions of both games and playing big screen windowed mode :)

Edit: I know which post you are referring to....

Re: Windows 7 *GUARANTEED* fix

Thanks for the link - I'll try it.

Tried to install on my stationary computer at home running Vista, and had all sorts of problems, and no intro. After a couple of fixes from this forum I got it...

Re: Windows 7 *GUARANTEED* fix

Yes!

Nope - didn't know it existed. Running the game on my laptop so not much of a widescreen there.

Re: Windows 7 *GUARANTEED* fix

1. Win7 Enterprise. Version 6.1. Build 7600.

2. Nope - never tried the NCrawler fix. Have the CD version so I have ran the game in "full screen" windowed mode as a workaround.

3. Yes, in...

Re: Windows 7 *GUARANTEED* fix

Downloaded the zip..

1. Changed my exisiting file to not show introduction.
2. Renamed the exisiting to something else, extracted the new one into the folder
3. Started the game intro
4....

Re: Troop quality setting off

Thanks Andy - good to know! Yep.. units with experience modifiers offsets it, but it's still better than having a big difference to start with and then a modifier on top of that :)

Troop quality setting off

Hi there,

One way of getting a supposedly balanced PBEM game would be to set the game up with the troop quality setting (country training) off and make the troop quality the same for both...

Re: Bug with assault boats?

Would be very "useful" in a 2-player river crossing game. But I agree.. probably not top priority to fix but your version of the game is so good that even the small glitches should be pointed out :)

Bug with assault boats?

Tried to search but couldn't find anything about it on the forums - perhaps its old knowledge.

I found a bug with assault boats the other day which seemed pretty weird. By "jumping in and out"...

Re: Allieds in Normandy. Need help with combined arms tactics.

You are right that combined arms tactics is the key. What should go in first?

I'd say a whole barrage of artillery! Artillery is extremely useful in closed terrain fighting. I find mortars good...

Re: winSPWW2 v4.0 -- 3 CORRECTED OOBs

Hi Don. An idea to avoid these things and save work and time for everyone could be to have a sticky "Known issues"-thread.

Re: winSPWW2 v4.0 -- 3 CORRECTED OOBs

Hi Andy. Just so I get this right - what you are saying is that these bugs are already known and there is an unreleased .exe file where the problems have been solved already. So this is a really a...

Re: winSPWW2 v4.0 -- 3 CORRECTED OOBs

Now this is pretty interesting. I tried this one:

1. Starting the game. Anzac vs. Sweden in -44. Basic security. 4.0 without OB fixes to rule out the possibility that I'm installing the 3 new ob's...

Re: winSPWW2 v4.0 -- 3 CORRECTED OOBs

Well, I haven't messed with the OOB's other than installing the patch. I had OOB issues with the 4.0 version, w/o the extra OOB patch. Since the previous game was Sweden vs. Anzac it shouldn't be...

Thanks. I copied mine into a text file. I'll pass it over to Walrus to see how it compares.

Re: winSPWW2 v4.0 -- 3 CORRECTED OOBs

That would be Sweden vs. Anzac in 1944.

And it's interesting if it's an OOB mismatch. Never touched my OOB's except for patching to the different versions (checked and it said 4.0) and then...
