Hmnnn, I always put the biggest Ionic Disperser I can on my carriers. Lets me slow down the enemy capital ships so I can keep the carrier out of heavy weapon range. That has also always been an asset...

Powerfull Point Defense

This must be a bug and I think someone else already mentioned it.
I just ran a simulation 50 fighters against a ship with 1 point defense cannon. One shot took out all 50 fighters.

I decided to play with satelites and noticed that it is possible to equip them with solar collectors and/or quantum reactors.

Hmnn,, well I primarily use a 4 ship fleet with 3 designs. 1 Explorere, one of Ship 2 and 2 of ship 3.
Ship one is the explorer.


Ship 2 is another carrier.

Yes repositioning before battle would help but that would still leave the other side open.. Equal spacing 3 of those with long range weapons would force the attackers to take out at least one before...

Also right off the bat I find that satelites and base stations still don't distribute themselves evenly arround planets and there still isn't any mechanism to move them so they are still useless for...

Really need the SE III feature of being able to highlight multiple ships and send all of them to the same place without having to establish a "fleet" first. Either that,, or there needs to be a way...

If you have the intel resources to steal a planet,, then you probably also have the other resources to simply intimadate the AI into being tolerant. This must be true since the diplomacy window...

Yes eagleton, your stratege is one that will almost always beat an AI opponent. The key is to determine what acts are "tolerated" by the AI even if they send you warnings and then staying just inside...

The medium setting should be balanced so that is the position where I will play.
The real test would be to creat an AI where you could give yourself every advantage and still have a challeging game...

Hmnn,, That would also make it impossible for capital ships to do point blank range. Besides,, as the game is right now the only thing that can be used on fighters is the point defense cannons..
