Thanks, I'm interested to see if this works. But won't it cost more than building them normally? Sure you only pay 80% at each step, but you pay 80% several times. Even if you only retrofit once...

Your abbreviations threw me off a bit, what do RD and the variants (I assume P0-5 = plate 1-5, and c0-5 = cable 1-5; but what is RDS1-5?) stand for?

So what you do is build the in-progress bases...

You could minimize the higher mineral effect from the hull by sticking on enough organic weapons/armor to balance the minerals. Then you'd only lack a small amount of energy.

The problem with those guys is that they have several abilities, not all of which overlap. The warning comes on whenever an overlap is discovered even if the facility in question has non-overlapping...

Neutrals are very limited in what you can do to mod them. They cannot have any non-average values nor any racial abilities (special techs, ancient race, etc). And they only use a few of the AI files....

IF you look in the component's files, there's an image for a colony on a gas giant with no atmosphere. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif No joke, it's really in there.
