Re: Best MBT of the world 2005 (According to SPMBT

Do remember, all training was set to the same level. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif The equipment was tested here, not the soldiers.

Re: Silly Senario\'s

I've always hated the time limit in SP. If nothing else, it's often way too little time to do things correctly.

Re: OOB Finland

There are normally different division/brigade/regiment/batallion and company structures, depending on the year, the equipment, politics, etc. What Kone refers to as corrections here, correcting what...

Re: OOB Finland

Very nice information. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Would you have any dates available for the units?

Re: Machineguns

Well, the "feature" won't change, so I see no reason to debate against it. I personally hate it, seeing as firing away with a weapon that has TRACERS one a single tank is silly as hell. You'd need a...

Re: Interesting Site: Wheeled vs. Tracked AFV (US

It has struck me that someone experienced, and who might have some insight on the topic in question, could write their articles on Wikipedia, yeah. At least more insight than one who denies a...

Re: Interesting Site: Wheeled vs. Tracked AFV (US

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M113):
Approximately 80,000 units of all types have been produced worldwide making it the most widely used armored fighting vehicle of all time. The M113...

Re: Making battalions in the editor?

In SP, the A0 is traditionally your BN staff. Eg:
A0: Bn HQ
B0: Coy 1
-c, d, e platoons
F0: Coy 2
etc.

There's no really good way to change this in the editor, at least not that I have or can...

Re: Interesting Site: Wheeled vs. Tracked AFV (US

I am surprised someone have the patience and, in my honest opinion, the STUPIDITY to spend so much time and "research" on such a long, idiotic, extremely subjective and biased piece of work. This...

Four to six minutes should be an appropriate time, don't you think?

Re: Possible bug in airborne drops

If the unit is labeled "airborne" I don't see a reason the size greater than a molecule for why one should have this feature if one can't get the crew down in one piece! I'm not arguing that it's...

Re: Possible bug in airborne drops

I feel the need to repeat myself: In the case of BMDs at least, there will ALWAYS be causalties (and the BMD only has a crew of 2). This can't be tolerated, as it's over the edge of silly.

Re: Idea for ARENA

Certainly, but that pic looks as if its taken from a larger demonstration. A tank would fire... how many discharges? Four, eight? Spread over such an area, I don't think they'd cause any fear....

Re: Idea for ARENA

Why so? Not only does the smoke land fifty metres/a hex in front of the unit discharging them, but surely the explosion would be more devastating (and at least cause suppression) than grenades...

Idea for ARENA

Could one implement a feature (I haven't seen it yet) that causes there to be a risk of infantry causalty if a tank with ARENA uses it, while an infantry unit is located in the same hex?
