Re: On T\'ien Ch\'i

Sauromatia currently holds three seats of power, and needs seven to win. He is currently poised to defeat R'lyeh, Lanka, and Abysia, counting six. A T'ien Ch'inese attack on Caelum would be the...

Re: On another topic . . .

Oh, T'ien Ch'i, T'ien Ch'i. I understand now why you are so reluctant to give Sauromatia the stab in the side they so rightly deserve. That is the third T'ien Ch'inese army the people of Kailasa...

Re: Chicken and egg

Aiya. That turn didn't quite go off as planned. I was really hoping that my siege-breaking army would hold for one more round so I could pop off the last two earthquakes I had ready. Considering...

Re: Two Birds With One Stone

Oh, Sauromatia! I just noticed that you've been naming all of your commanders. Someone has been reading A Song of Ice and Fire, it is known. (Also, it is all too appropriate that Khal Drogo, the...

Re: Two Birds With One Stone

Oh, T'ien Ch'i, you cowards. The barbarians greedily eye your western frontier. Do you not know the threat the Sauromatians represent? Do you not know what will inevitably result from steppe...

Re: Two Birds With One Stone

This is the best manufactured casus belli I have ever seen. I'm not sure what the deal with the tritoness is, but everything you say about Stravinsky is absolutely true, especially the bit about the...

Re: Oh, the Horror!

Warning, nations of Ascendant! It is known that Sauromatia is touched by death and arrogance. Do not purchase these gems of so-called life! Many thousands of Sauromatian children and slaves have...

Re: Oh, the Horror!

Your ancient aboleths see much, but in this instance they are wrong. Tir na n'Og has been a good if reticent neighbour, and we would never attack them as you suggest. We are, on the other hand,...

Re: Continuing about the age of Ascendant

Long has the Lord Stravinsky achieved enlightenment, and just as long have there been those, hairless and ape, who doubt him. How can this be -- has he not escaped the cycle of samsara, has he not...

Re: Ascendant - EA for new guys

That's the funny thing. You're absolutely right, and that is why I was expecting nasty casualties. His army was primarily spire horn archers and mercenary longbowmen, but they ended up wasting most...

Re: Ascendant - EA for new guys

Yow. I was expecting to win that battle, but not so decisively. (I was also expecting to rehire those mercenaries; you must have paid a decent fortune for them, Caelum!)

Re: What is the story with those dominion ads??

I can't speak for the others who are annoyed by the ad campaign, but I can tell you why I do not like it: not because it is offensive (as you say, the image is tame), but because it is insulting. ...

Re: Ascendant - EA for new guys

As if I was going to train yavanas en masse without giving them a decent bless. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif If I had known I would be up against a rushing Caelum, though,...

Re: Mega Game II-vote for map

You keep saying 7 water races, but without LA R'lyeh aren't there only six?

Re: Awe Vs Trample

Huh, whaddya know. I just did a quick test, and you're right. The elephants run up to the awed units and then start flashing their "oh no, I've been awed" flashes. Well, that changes everything. ...

Re: Awe Vs Trample

Ah, you saw my post. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

My understanding, which might be incorrect, is that trampling is not an attack, and thus draws no awe check at all.

Re: Ascendant - EA for new guys

I was really hoping you'd go straight for my capital instead of taking the scenic route through the hinterland. But yes, soon: yavana versus mammoth! ... why do I suspect I'm in trouble?

Oh,...

Re: Ascendant - EA for new guys

It's a bit early to say getting its butt kicked -- we have yet to fight a major battle -- but yes, I'm being rushed by Caelum. And Kailasa has the same slow start as Lanka.

I am now 2 for 2 MP...

Re: The Promised Land

The reason is much more sad than that. Namely, that Caelum keeps thunderstriking my heavy infantry and cavalry dead, and storming my crossbowmen useless... and that's pretty much the entire Marignon...

Re: Ascendant - EA for new guys (finding host)

We're not using PBEM; lch is running a server. Basically, lch's fancy scripts email you a notification when a new turn is ready. Then you connect to the server through the Network option, select...

The Promised Land

Tomaso del Monferrada stood outside Baldr's Gate and peered down the road that wove through the forests of Eriu towards the Marignon plain to the southwest. By now, he knew, the hordes of Ulm would...
