Tips for running in Windows 10?

I would like to ask if there is anything I can do to get this game running in Windows 10?

Some of the graphics, notably the cursor and sprites, are deformed and out of position. Printed text's background conflicts with its surroundings.

I have tried using compatibility options, to no avail. Thus, I want to know what my options are before I reinstall my boxed copy of the game (I started with just the demo build).
