Default Tank reaction to AT fire

Just a simple question regarding a feature of SP. Would it be possible to modify the code that governs an AFV type unit to turn to face an attack by AT fire (vehicle/gun/INF) so that an angle is presented vs. a direct facing? (aka 0 degrees to the attacking unit)

Reason for the question is that, esp. when playing German Axis....alot of their AFV designs do not incorporate sloping so to take advantage of the code that takes into account angles, a common tactic is to present an oblique target to the Threat. This was even part of German doctrine....esp for heavy AFV units equipped with Tiger 1. The strategy though is often defeated by reactive code that eliminates the player angle in favor of a direct facing (0 degrees) which occurs automatically during the opposing side's fire phase.

If its not feasible is there a tactic available to the player to counter the auto facing code?

Thanks.

Default Re: Tank reaction to AT fire

I believe it already does that. The vehicle might change its facing immediately or it may take a few turns before the crew figures out what direction the fire came from. It's possible your playing with an old version of the game, because I remember vehicles wouldn't change their facing when attacked like you mentioned, then at some later date they started doing it. Also, there may be a discrepancy between MBT and WW2, I don't know.
