Steve Butts of IGN has posted his review.
Quote:
War Plan Pacific is a welcome addition to the wargame catalog that makes good decisions in terms of sacrificing details and streamlining gameplay.

Re: Reviews
Noted strategy blogger Troy Goodfellow has named War Plan Pacific as his choice for Best Wargame of 2008 (granted, he ties it with another game, but we'll ignore that other game...)

Re: Reviews
Jim Zabek of Wargamer.com has posted his review of War Plan Pacific, saying, "It is uncommon to see games that master simplicity, elegance, historical accuracy, and fast gameplay. War Plan Pacific finds that sweet spot and hits it perfectly."

Re: Reviews
Mike Kreuzer writes in his blog, "Wrote on the Ground":
Quote:
I’ve played this game more than any other recently, and it looks like it’ll be my standby game for a quick fix of combat for a long while to come. I’m looking forward to future designs by this guy. This is his first, and it’s a great start.

Re: Reviews
Troy S. Goodfellow's review of War Plan Pacific has been posted at GameShark. He awards the game an A- , saying:
Quote:
"This is the light wargame that so many people have been waiting for. Still, light is not the same as casual. This is an appetizer for meatier fare, of course, but it has a flavor and value of its own, independent of its entry level status... It is a quick playing and transparent game with an elegance that puts a lot of larger budget games to shame."
