Default Re: Are you tough enough to be the "King of the Hill"?

this is turning out interesting...

I started more in the middle than Phoenix-D, which is giving me a bit of an advantage, I have tryed to cut him off from the systems on the other side of me, whether he will manage to squezze past me or not will be interesting...
he has got a number of my ships with mines, and a copple with his kamakazi colonisers...
my stand-off missile ships seem to be holding there own for now, though he has a higher mineral ext raceal advantage than I do, which is starting to show a little, however I think I may have a nasty suprise in store for him....

RexTorres vs BBegemott
King Match
10 starting planets + Tesco Map, other than that- default
Turn 2404.2

RexTorres has got initiavive from the start. I have never been the first in scores.

The game turned out to be talisman vs intelligence. And talisman is winning that war. RexTorres is attacking me with 3 fleets of at least 25 ships each. And each warship has talisman of course. I was trying to stop him at the warps, but my kamikazes and ship captures appear too far away to inflict some real damage.
Besides, it is the first time I'm facing talisman in multiplayer game. And i must say I really like it. Maybe I'll try it out myself in my next game

So I'm in trouble. Really big trouble. Delay the inevitable- that's all what I can do.

Tks for the update. Rex is usually pretty quiet. Oh, and sorry to hear about your situation.

Hmmm, the hill seems to be thinning out in the middle. I know a level was added at one point to unclutter things, but now I'm sitting with no opponent, as is Slynky on the level below me, and there is only one match running on the level below him. Everybody else is in the bottom section, except the two curently fighting for the crown and Asmala waiting in the wings. Looks like it could be a while before I get another opponent.

Nodachi vs Alneyan
Just as soon as Aleyan satisfies my curious nature and attacks my homeworld I'll be surrendering.

This one started out very well, but I seemed to get lost somewhere. As soon as I lost first place in the scoring Alneyan started beating the tar out of me. Good job and good game!

My apologizes, I am still waiting for my minesweepers to actually be in position and for this resupply depot to come Online, as my little taskforce is somewhat running low on supplies. Afterwards, as I am very curious, I will do something.

In fact, my own strategy was a very slow development in the early game, focused on mine defences and expansive (and expensive as well) colonization. It only paid off since turn 40 or so, with a increase by ten times of my research potential. (From around 65k per turn to 650k per turn now) Obviously, the galaxy was much bigger than usual (about 50 colonizable systems) and very friendly to oxygen breathers, especially for gas giants. You had me worried with your frigate fleet, even if these were close to a black hole and too near my minefields. Good game, but I am afraid the end is now very near.

Keep trying Nodachi. You will win one one of these times, and when you do it will be sweet!
