Default OT- Transformers movie

So, I saw the Transformers movie today. Before you say "wait doesn't it come out next week?" remember I'm Australian and we don't feel the need to delay it till july 4, for whatever reason .

The TV critics I watch sometimes thought it was good, and they also admitted they're not fond of Michael Bay movies. I thought it was a bit frenetic. One of the complaints the critics had was that the fight scenes just look like 2 large bits of metal rolling about, which I have to agree with somewhat.

It was quite humorous at times and I have to say my favourite was the Cd player that looked like it was hyper active.

Just saw the movie today. Not a bad movie. Brings back a lot of memories. I still think the cartoon movie from the 80's had a lot more feeling to it. Especially when they kill off some of the main characters. Then the TV show where they find them drifting in space in that monument and one of them has come back to life. To be a kid again.

Just caught it on DVD, and gotta say I love it. I think they did a great job, all things considered.

I'd heard lots of whining when it was first released about the changes they made in Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.I think, having seen it now, that those purist whines were ridiculous and petty. All the changes made were excellent, and really captured the flavor of the Transformers as I remembered them.

Even down to the "motto" painted on the side of Barricade !!!

I really enjoyed it as well.

I think the BIG close ups on the fight scenes were a trade off to make them appear more realistic and not so obvious CGI. Its a hard one to balance between obvious CGI and very well hidden CGI.

No one has mentioned this.....Girl.....sweat on stomache.....Freakin Hot!!

The 'humorous' parts were idiotic. The problem the movie was trying to be bad *** action and disney at the same time. Didn't work... Should have focused on the bad *** action part, which was awesome.

I loved that movie. Not so much because of acting quality but the fact that I was fan of Transformers since I was a kid and seeing them on big screen made me feel good.

It was a job well done considering the fact that they had to put sci-fi robot cartoon into todays world. Not an easy task, even more so since lots of people loved that cartoon and wouldn't appreciate a half baked job on it (Uwe Bowl comes to mind here).
