Default Question and Suggestion about Limited Resources

When "limited resources" is turned on, what happens to resources that were mined/grown/refined but that were not stored, because the player was past his/her storage limit? Are they lost forever from the galaxy? If they are, they really shouldn't be. They should be returned to the player's colony planets somehow as raw materials that have not been used up but that must be reprocessed. The same goes for the raw materials from ships destroyed in battle. Ideally, a battle should create an "asteroid field" but that might be too hard for the game engine, so an alternative is simply to stick the raw materials on the nearest body in the star system -- planet, moon, asteroids, or star. (Any raw material sucked into a star goes bye-bye, though, at least based on the tech in the demo.)

How about now allowing resource facilites to operate if your resource storage is at max? These should keep the player from being forced to build dozens of storage facilities simply because the miners have no "Off" switch.

An "off-switch" for production facilities would be very important for the limited resources variant.

I suggested MM already such a feature in one of my Posts.

As the demo stands now, I monitor my planets' production, etc. When a planet gets very low on minerals, I start scrapping a few miners and building int or research facilities (or whetever else is needed). Alos consider that in the long run its sometimes better to build only a few miners, even on a mineral rich planet, so as to not deplete so soon, and to control the production of materials to the empire reserves. No need to max out a "rich" planet with mining facilities.

BTW, even with finite resources on, my planets seem to keep producing resources anyway. Is the finite resources working in he demo?

Stars! would leave behind resources after a battle that would fade over time. I can see some value in this if you play with finite resources (like Stars! is), but none if resources are limitless.
