Default Editor question - painting terrain

Not sure if this is the right forum... I have the following problem with SPWW2 and SPMBT editors: When painting terrain, I can't click and drag. I have to click each and every single hex that I want painted. As you can imagine, this gets really tedious after a while.

Is this behaviour intended (free download version) or a bug?

Running windowed under Vista, ATI graphics card.

It's behavior inherited from the original SP2 engine. It's tedious a bit but you can help yourself atleast a bit by using fill function.

The CD version allows cut and paste in the extended map editor which isn't really what you are asking for but it does allow large areas to be moved from one place to another. However you may or may not be aware that there is a "fill range" feature in the regular game map editor. If you need to add larger amounts you can set the fill range and then click on a hex and then click on FILL and it will give you a hex shaped chuck of terrain. Not useful for detail work but if what you want to do is add a patch of dirt to one part of the map you can set fill range to 8 ( for example ). click on the what would be the middle of the terrain you wanted added and then use the "fill" button and you will get a large chunk of that terrain placed there. With practice you can add a lot of terrain at a time with this method. Try setting the fill range to 3 for a start then click on the point on the map you want that terrain and then click on "Fill" and you'll get more than one hex filled at a time. After filling the general area you can go back and add detail with one hex at a time

Extremely useful is also the "mini-fill" on right mouse button, fills just seven hexes.

Thanks, by trying out every possible button, I actually found the quick-fill function. I guess that will have to do.
