There was no "persusion" involved. A friend and I climbed in and photographed each other and nobody said a word. This was taken mid week in March in the late 1970's. I *think* there may have been a sign saying something about not doing that but we did it anyway. We figured if they REALLY didn't want people in there they wouldn't have left the hatches open
There isn't as much room in those things as you would think. It was a TIGHT fit for me then and I *might* have weighed 150 pounds tops at the time. Panzer crew were little guys.
There are lot's of photos of this Tiger on the 'net and it's been repainted more accurately since I was there. Everyone sees the hits on the front glacis that didn't penetrate. What you don't see are the little 50 cal holes penetrating from the top at a 45 degree angle on the rear deck that did.
The caps we picked up in Austria and add to the ambience as does the Black Belstaff jacket
