Default Two simple questions.

At the start of a PBEM campaign, if I do not spend all my points for core units and leave some points, will I get them for repairs/expanding next battle or will they be lost?
Also, the second player does not get fewer points if I spend fewer, correct?

1) The initial points are for the initial buy only. They are the points you set for force size in the preferences screen. Any points not spent are ignored, just as in a regular battle. [Newbie FAQ - "I have only 1200 points for my campaign core! - Wah!" - Answer: Set your preferences to what points you want in the preferences screen before you start the campaign set-up].

2) The second player gets the usual points in relation to what player 2 spent. If you spend 1000 points on your initial core buy, then he will get 1000 points to buy his initial core, obviously. Otherwise you don't start out even.

From then on, player 2 in a PBEM gets the normal points ratio based on player one's core value + any support points player 1 bought. Adjusted for Player 2's core value, which will increase in a PBEM campaign, unlike the AI force in a regular campaign of course.

Thus - Whenever player 2 in a PBEM campaign is offered support points, he is a fool not to spend them!. (Unless he likes playing under a handicap of course - P1 is a newbie, say).

If player 2 is not offered any support points, then P1 has either not bought any, or his (Core + Support) has not managed to reach the normal level as determined by the normal battle ratio, adjusted for P2's core value.

(I'm not sure if P2 can then spend repair points to buy extra support toys over and above the amount granted. But that is not usually a good idea as if you get mauled in that battle, then you have spent repair points you now do not have...)

Both sides will get repair points, based on core value and the victory level you got in the last battle (less if you lose, more if you win).
