Default Core Forces in Campaigns

I want to do a campaign on the 1st Cavalry Division. I know that in campaigns the player chooses his own forces.

In this instance, however, I would like to pick the majority of the core force myself. By that I mean units that are specially prepared for the scenario that would continue from scenario to scenario, unlike aux units.

I would give the human player some points to play with but I would supply the larger part of the core force.

Can that be done? Normally units not marked as "aux" or "fixed" do not appear in scenarios converted to campaign scenarios.

As I understand, "fixed" means units that do not move, or does it mean units that remain in each scenario unless they are eliminated?

Double Deuce, you're the man who has done campaigns here. What update do you have for me on this? Please sir?

WB,

The only thing you have to do is:

1. Link scenario No1: Buy the core force that you wish the player uses as core force (you shouldn't mark these units as AUX/FIX and you shouldn't buy any AUX/FIX units for link scenario No1).

2. In the other link scenarios the only thing that need to do is to adjust the replacement points of your core force to a value that will cover the predicted casualties of the core force and will give a margin to the player to expand his core force army with new units (during the replacement/fix phase).

3. Set in the campaign editor screen the core force as "FIX"

cheers,
pyros

WB,

OK its now the AM, got distracted by the little ones till very late.

Anyway, Pyros pretty much gave you a brief overview.

What you do is design the 1st scenario and purchase what you want the player to have for his Core Force. The 1st scenario that will be in the campaign CANNOT have any AUX/FIX units in it. They work in Scenario's BUT when slotted as the 1st scenario of a campaign ALL Fix/Aux units will be removed once the player starts the campaign. All units left alone (not Fix/Aux) will be present in the 1st scenario and these will be the Players Core Force. In a Fixed Core Force campaign I believe that the Build Points for the 1st scenario of the capaign are ignored. Support Points are available though. For all other scenario's any points allocated in the Build/Support columns will be available to the player to pick "additional" forces. NOTE: If you want the player to have a fixed # of Build/Support points you must enter that # as a "-" then the #. Otherwise the AI will set the available points based on other variables (not sure what they are off the top of my head but I believe it has to do with battle type, points set in the preferences and a couple other factors).

All in all, I think that the Build/Support points for succeeding scenarios work pretty much the same way as in SPWAW. They are;

Build = Repair points and expand Core Force points.
Support = Support Unit purchase points.

Pyros can correct or expand on what I posted. I am stil learning alot of what can and can't be done and what affects what.

Thank you gentlemen. I think I have it now. A little trial and error will confirm it.

I appreciate the clarity of these answers. As I work, if I find some difficulties, I'll be asking but I'll try not to be a nuisance.

Keep asking... I am sure that a lot of people are interested (and profit) from this kind of questions...

cheers,
Pyros

p.s There are far more small details and tips that could be mentioned with each question but I personally prefer to give direct answers.
