Data/OOB Questions
Hi:
1) I read in a post that the designer could change the OOB for his scenario. I understand he could give different equipment etc. But I notice the Soviet SU-122 has a speed of 18 in the OOB file and in the scenario 54. HG Guns in Poland it has a speed of 17. Didn't think a designer would change speed of an AFV so wondering what I am missing.
2) In 54. HG Guns in Poland the Soviet A0-BN unit, which is a BA-64 AOP, sounds like horses.

Re: Data/OOB Questions
If you have TO&E questions - ask them in the TO&E sub-forum and not the main game forum.
1) Maybe the OOB designer decided to use 17, or maybe the thing was 17 when the scenario was created. Scenarios do not refresh the loaded data if the OOB was changed as far as I recollect. (I dont play scenarios).
2) Seems like the OOB designer left the thing with the speed of the HQ. Vehicles with speed 5 are treated as wagons, so use the clippety-clop move sound unless overridden. Really a scenario design question/bug report that should have been asked in the scenarios sub-forum. (Why would a scenario designer change the HQ element to a fast vehicle that kamikazes towards the player - perhaps why he slowed it down?).

Re: Data/OOB Questions
Re point 1 - IIRC, if units are left stock then they refresh from the OOB. However if the designer makes any change (even just editing the name to something that looks good for the scenario like HQ/2/121) then the "changed" flag gets set for the unit. Units that are flagged as changed dont refresh - otherwise any edits the designer had made to weapons etc would simply be stepped on by the standard OOB data when the scenario gets loaded.

Re: Data/OOB Questions
The designer may not have made the change.....WE could have altered the speed and what you see the old values. It's the way the game works
