Default Loading and Playing: Upgrading from 7.01

Well well well. I've been playing the old Dos version (7.01) in windows now since last April and just, a few minutes ago, learned that there is a new version, windows based and everything. Just downloaded it and loading it into my game computer.
I play on an old DELL Inspiron 8000, Me o/s, that is not on the internet. My questions are:
1) Do I have to uninstall my SPWW2 v7.01? Can this game integrate some saved games from that program? Do I care to??

2) Do I need the disc with the SPWW2 v1.0, patch 1.1B, left in in order to play?

2a) What about WinSPMBT- does it need the disc in like the SPWW2v7.01 did/does?

Thanks guys. Ya see, I was playing SPWW2v7.01 with these little guys on the beach, and we were drinking this home brew, and I fell asleep, and when I woke up I thought it was the next day, but I really needed a shave, and had to..., and so much has changed and well, you understand.... Help me.....

Hi

1-you can leave the old version installed. You can have many installs of these games, you just have to be aware which ones are which for games using any password protection.

Some maps may be able to be used. PBEM games...no transfer possible. Some scenarios may be playable from the old version....but there have been many changes to OOBs etc and there is a good chance you'll find many issues.

It's pretty much a new version in a lot of ways...and much better too!

2-NO, you can use it with no disk.

2a-same for winMBT...no disk needed.

I suggest you read the game guide. many things have changed.

Cheers
SGT
