Folks, I think there's a whole lot of other nations that need a boost, before the question of whether Gilead's archers should have laser scopes on their bows becomes too much of a pressing debate.

I mean, it's my understanding that the Gath nations are already death on two feet.

Ah, true about the commands.

Haven't played much with Gath itself, but Ashdod does look pretty formidable. Perhaps more so than Hinnom, but then, I'm a fan of large/slow games and death magic.

I don't discourage that they be tweaked, ofcourse, it's just that they're getting a whole lot of attention, and there's a bunch of nations that need it a whole lot more, in my opinion.

While I agree that Ashdod is already formidable and doesn't need tweaking, it's probably easier if you try to talk about Machaka or Man or something than to stop people from talking about Hinnom/Ashdod/Gath.

Lol. I only brought it up because I was playing an Ashdod sp game, and I was pissed that I could not buy more of them. I agree there are many other nations much more in need of tweaks.

Ashdod is quite a bit more powerful than Hinnom, btw. I've played them both now, and Ashdod is a major *** kicker, and they don't eat their population.

I don't care what people talk about, I just think it's funny, kind of like suggesting that Helheim's troops really ought to have magic weapons.

I don't quite follow. MA Shinuyama has some Dai Bakemonos with longbows (less damage than Gileadite bows). Is that what you mean? Slightly better precision (+1) than Gileadite Archers, slightly less resource cost, significantly less gold cost (45 -> 30), half as many hit points, better mapmove.

Dai Bakemonos are cheaper both in gold and resources, have better precision, deal less damage with their arrows and formidable in melee - while gileadites arent. I think that overall, Dai Bakemonos are much better.
