Default Utility to Adjust OOB Values

I have written a VB6 program that allows the user to adjust the value of an entire OOB by entering a cost multiplier. For instance, to make all units available at 80% of the original cost, enter a cost multiplier of "0.8". The original file will be automatically backed up.

Attached is a screenshot of the utility.

If forum moderators give me permission, I'll upload the util (8KB rar) to this thread.

Just adjusting the scaling factors in the cost calculator should let you do that, if you feel the need to do so (and that will let you adjust by individual unit class as well). Plus - you can load or save your scaling factor set as a file from that tab of the CC. Scaling factor is a divisor as I recall - to make cheaper, you will need to increase the divisor value.

Cheers

No, it doesn't. The scaling factor works on everything (armor, vision, etc.) except the ammo loadout.
Example - Obat12.obf - M24 Chaffee:
Scaling 40: Base=1585 Ammo=459 Cost=2044/40 >> Scaled Value=51
Scaling 80: Base=3155 Ammo=459 Cost=3614/80 >> Scaled Value=45

With regards to unit classes, I might implement that in a later version. For the moment I just need to take 10% of an oob and this does the trick.

Can I upload the utility?

Well, here it is then. It's 15kb as I've included the source code. The readme.txt is there for a reason, so don't forget to read it. :-)

I've added a scaling field to the new cost calculator which will be coming out in the patch.

It is applied after the scaling factors and is an overall multiplier. Set to 1.0 by default - use 0.8 to scale the final costs to 80%, 0.5 for 50%, 1.25 for 125% etc, then hit recalculate, or load a fresh OOB and it will apply to the calculation made on OOB load.

Applies to the current calculations - so a batch calculation of all OOBS will get the same overall multiplier as set in the field in the scalings tab.

Cheers
Andy
