Default Markers Feedback Please

Nowadays I can often have a gap between playing so a few markers mainly to highlight enemy artillery would be nice to remind me when I come back to the battle.

Thoughts
1) Use Blue or Red (MBT) OOB create a unit set price to say 1 (will have to reset if run price calculator obviously)

2) Name unit & formation marker
3) Give formation a big experience boost for a low plotting time so can place that turn.
4) Weapon class mortar or off board artillery?
Your thoughts please here are mine

A) Off board better but I don't think it will work.
Needs to have ammo or it wont show up on plotting screen which means due to high experience it will counter battery fire if not plotted.

B) Mortar make size 0 & place in corners so hopefully planes wont be distracted by them, they wont fire so smoke tell tales wont be an issue.
Mortar because of reduced minimum range.

Anybody think of a better way of doing it?

Low rate of fire & just giving the weapon a kill of 1 just in case contact is lost & it does fire.

Seems a long winded way of doing something that you can achieve just by jotting down a few notes.

Especially as you may have other more complex things to remind yourself of (possible arty locations, possible hidden unit locations, enemy movement, etc).

Perhaps the programme having a "scratchpad" type text file associated with each game save could work? Personally I just type stuff in a text file as I play and save it with same name as save title so I can easily identify which to look at on returning.
