Computer Scenerio Edit- Human on left.

Ok so I started setting up a scenerio for a human player about a week ago. Now as I near completion of this venture I look in the game guide to check something, and right at the begining it's saying that the human player should always be on the left...

This human has set up on the right..

All my editing work is on the left..

Is this senerio going to crash and burn when he fires it up?

Where does it say that? - since it is not true.

What does mess things up, is if a scenario designer does not confirm to the 2 sides the game sets up as baselines - since retreat will go towards the player baseline side, and off-map arty comes in from the player's baseline side. Or he tries a "Top to Bottom" or vice versa scenario. SP games are played from right <--> left.

And there is a hot key available - or a button on the scenario editor main page - to swap round the default sides, if so required. Do that at the start of the scenario design of course!.

Also - the default is for the side designed for the human to be player 1, i.e. he moves first. Player 2 is the default AI side, in almost all cases. (Unless the human player specifically chooses the non-default side for the scenario, of course).

Under Scenerio Editor 2nd paragraph

The player I'm setting up for isn't concerned about it.

I'll make sure that the human player stays on the left from now on. It's been so long since I tried editing I've gone and forgotten alot of mundane SP info,
thanks for your answer.

And I quote from the game guide:

Quote:
Important note to scenario designers, remember that any scenario you design should be with the human as player 1 (the one on the left in the picture below) and the AI (computer) player as player number 2 (on the right).
Note what it actually says (my bold). It does NOT say that the human player MUST be on the left. It says that Player 1 in that example - referencing a screen shot below - is on the left hand side.

If you use the side-swap utility then you can change that. See the paragraph beginning "The Map Sides buttons are what allow you to exchange the default map sides, .. "

So
1) Scenarios should be designed with the human player as player 1
2) Player 1 can be on the left or the right.
2.1) If you do not like the default sides, you can swap them. It is best to do so before placing any troops whatsoever though.

Bullet #1 is the important bit. Unless you know exactly what you are doing the default human side is player 1.

Yes, that line has NOTHING to do with what side of the map the game should be played on just that we recommend the human player be player one. There are a number of scenarios where the designers have deliberately set up the game to play human as player two but we still recommend player one be the human. Whether player one is on the left or right side of the map is totally irrelevant to the issue
