Re: Bagpipes vs. Oboes

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Oboes beat bagpipes" that's going on in this thread right now. Bagpipes deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I'm talking...

Re: Modding tips and tricks

I saw this mod, once - it was so terribly bad, you probably can't even believe it.

Instead of using a simple mind-reading device to generate a perfect game experience, it contained like, a .dm...

Re: Warhammer MA

A lovely initiative, it's handy to be able to run the whole set with little fuss.

On the topic of a Warhammer mod, I wonder if it might be fun and/or interesting to modify the various horror units...

Re: Ice Crafter Equipped with Dwarven Hammer

A commander with a natural 100% bonus needs to pay 1 gem, at least - there's one in my little fate/sprite works mod - though again, site or global bonuses might let it go lower, I dunno.

Re: Blitznoth - Highways & Strongholds

I imagine it means the map feels much smaller, as most of the provinces are of little value, lacking all valuable properties.

Re: Venexia, the most serene republic

The common English term for that would be a halo.

Re: Venexia, the most serene republic

I'm afraid they both look a bit tossed together, especially the first one - I mean, there's a wing stapled onto the front leg of the poor lion!

The second can sort of work, but I'd suggest scaling...

Re: Stacking Luck

No, no, no. You just don't get it. The significance of four clocks goes beyond your meagre mentalities.

I don't blame you, though - you've clearly been educated stupid.

The 12 hour or 1/2 Day...

Re: Warhammer MA: Empire

I find the idea of Death magic on bright wizards a bit odd. They're all about sudden violence and destruction, brightly-burning anger and violent temper. Not subtle in the least, but direct, forceful...

Re: Chaos Daemon Sprites

Looking at the examples in the most recent Daemons of Chaos army book, Daemonettes come in many different colours - most have approximately Caucasian skin colours, most pale but some tanned, with...

Re: heroes

Just because something hasn't happened to evolve naturally, that doesn't mean it couldn't be useful - evolution, as far as I know, doesn't work with 'what would be useful to aim for' so much as 'what...

Re: Is there WH fantasy battle total mod?

I've currently two relevant mods in progress - Dark Elves fairly close to a first release (~70%, working on sprites), and Chaos Dwarfs, further up the line and on hold until I figure out how I want...

Re: Dark Elves?

I suppose I'll bump this up rather than make a new thread to ask, is anyone else currently working on a Dark Elves mod? If so, would said anyone be interested in a bit of cooperation?

I've...

Re: Warhammer Dwarfs, discussion/hype thread

I'd suggest thunderers or perhaps a scaled-down organ gun, firing runic lightning or something instead of bullets to keep within the NO GUNPOWDERS restriction. (...though it may well risk getting too...

Re: Warhammer Greenskin hype/brainstorming thread....

With #charge, you have no control over the effectiveness of said bonus, other than by increasing or decreasing the mobility of the orc.

With a separate weapon, you can increase or decrease the...

Re: Warhammer Greenskin hype/brainstorming thread....

What you'd do is make a new weapon, named "Get stuck in!", "Orcy Charge", "WAAAGH!" or whatever seems good to you, and give it an #ammo value of 1, and the #bonus flag. (Said flag makes orcs with...

Re: Warhammer Greenskin hype/brainstorming thread....

I'd personally do something like add an additional "Get stuck in!" bonus weapon to orcs, usable once/battle, to represent their opening bonus - that way, it can be fine-tuned for power with more...

Re: Warhammer Greenskin hype/brainstorming thread....

Looking at name types, it should be possible to use the following without much disruption, if their names are accurate - I've yet to test it, though.

131, "EA Ulm Male"
132, "EA Ulm Female" ...

Re: Warhammer Greenskin hype/brainstorming thread....

You're perfectly free to modify those snotlings as you see fit, cutting down on their numbers, changing their colours, rearming them or anything else you feel like.

On that note, might I perhaps...

Re: Warhammer Greenskin hype/brainstorming thread....

Here's a greenskin sprite I'm fairly happy with from my Chaos Dwarfs project, though it might be a little low on detail - six snotlings make up one size 1 unit!

(They tend to flow into each other...

Re: Warhammer Dwarfs, discussion/hype thread

Indeed, those are much better, and actually look very dwarfish.

(To offer some sort of constructive critique, I'd suggest lengthening their armour if you want a more tabletop feel to them - dwarf...

Re: Warhammer Highelves: Speculation and hype

Were I to design the nation, I'd likely land somewhere around the following mage setup.

Recruitable Anywhere:

Mage: S1 ?1(100%, From all paths except Blood.) ?1 (100%, From all paths except...

Re: Warhammer Dwarfs, discussion/hype thread

If you don't mind, I think I could pull off a pretty good tabletop dwarf or seven you could work from - I'm thinking something like the attached mockup sprite, though larger. (That one was mostly to...

Re: A Discussion on kingmaking and community standards.

See, the problem here is that there's really no good way I can think of to judge when someone should be allowed to give things away or ruin their lands - you pretty much have to stick to either...

Re: A Discussion on kingmaking and community standards.

I'd say a lot of this begins in a sensible strategy of looking less juicy - you'd reasonably expect your opponents to weigh the pros and cons of attempting to take you out, and you can work against...
