Re: Australian/New Zealand OOB

Hi TDR,

thanks for the feedback. However, in order to consider changing the current formations, we'd need some data (ie sources) to back up your suggestions. That's with regards to your points 1...

Re: Artillery

Hi Miki,

that may be very true, especially if the panzers you were using have relatively thin armor. There's a good chance that a tank in the blast circle of an artillery round gets hit by flying...

Re: Incredible good luck , or gameplay change ?

Yes and no. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

There's a wide range of actual supression behind the 'pinned' status and it's that suppresion figure more than the status that...

Re: Congrats and a question

Hi Helge,

I'm not sure what you mean either as I see no difference between the two games when selecting a campaign?

Narwan

Edit: Helge, I see what you mean now.

Re: New elements in WinSPWW2

1. You're right that off-map artillery isn't named as such in the unit name as it was in WinSPMBT. That does make it a bit harder to distinguish them from on-map units. Maybe something to consider...

Re: New elements in WinSPWW2

It's not specifically mentioned, no. But you can distinguish them by looking at the units themselves. On map artillery pieces are displayed as single guns, ie with just one slot of the main gun. Off...

He Pyros, don't give away too much about this battle, discovering all the angles is half the fun! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: It\'s HERE NOW!!

Hmm, that does ring familiar indeed, but didn't the OB's only go back to 1930? So no actual battles pre 1930 (with actual pre 1930 troops) were possible... that's how I recall it at least.

Re: It\'s HERE NOW!!

Hmm WW1 was not a part of SPWW2v7. In fact if I remember correctly it started later in the thirties, '33 or '35 I think. So WinSPWW2 is the version with the earliest startdate yet...

Hi Krotos,

also see my reply in another thread; 'kills' in the game are not only actual kills but include woundend and those fleeing the battlefield individually, putting them effectively beyond...

Re: Morale Issues

Hi Krotos,
losses incurred in this game are not necessairily outright human kills. If a 10 men squad has 4 men left that does not men 6 men were killed. It means that there are 4 combat effective...

Re: Airpower and helicopter question

Perhaps you've put the number of airstrikes available for the enemy ot 0? (Check the preference screen).
Or perhaps the visibility is very low? That may result in less airpower too.

Re: Killing Infantry

Fast moving AFV's are not very effective vs infantry. While it may look like your vehicle moves first then stops and fires, he's actually firing while moving very fast.
The best way to deal with...

Were those units retreating or routed ON THE TURN YOU MOVED YOUR ARMOR IN, or did that happen on an earlier turn? Because only pinned or ready troops will return fire. And just like you rally your...

Re: AIFV costs, should them be lowered or not?

Not exactly, AIFV's will suffer against similar high tech MBT's, NOT against all units. Against slightly less advanced units, even MBT's they'll tend to have the edge.

I think this may be more the...

Re: AIFV costs, should them be lowered or not?

Well, if the IFV is capable of killing the Leo 1 too (with ATGM's and/or HEAT rounds) and can carry infantry internally and is (several sizes) smaller (=harder to spot and hit) shouldn't it actually...
