Re: Version 2.0 french OOB

Thanks, PK, that's indeed the unit 007 I was referring too.
Glad to see it'll be fixed, I like the AMX13/90 a lot! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Super snipers???

Sorry, I was referring to human vs human play, not vs the AI. It's human opponents who tend to use snipers in 'last man standing' tactics too. I've rarely if ever seen someone withdraw a located...

Re: Super snipers???

True, but 'dealing with' in that example probably means forcing the sniper to relocate or pack it in for the day. It's unlikely to have actually hit him.

If you do want to take him out you have...

Re: Super snipers???

Tank main guns and mg's aren't all that effective against snipers so I'm not surprised. Open terrain still offers lot's of places for a single man to hide or find cover. It's not a completely flat...

Re: Super snipers???

I recall an gurkha trooper who got the VC for holding off close to a company of japanese infantry with his Lee Enfield, while being seriously wounded. He wasn't a 'sniper', just really good with his...

Re: Version 2.0 french OOB

That's not just the simplest but also the best solution I think! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Thanks.

Re: Version 2.0 french OOB

The short answer is yes, they use the VAB and not the AMX10P.

Legion 'mech' infantry regiments are part of french light armoured divisions (now named brigades if I understood Sparfell correctly)....

Re: direct fire splashes

Well, for one I'm still interested to know if there is a list somewhere which shows the blast range (and suppression effect range) for the different calibre's.

As to the effectiveness, although...

Re: direct fire splashes

DRG,

I'm not talking about the splash damage rings. I didn't even see any rings. I'm talking about about real damage (immobilisations, crew losses and destroyed units) done to jeeps when...

direct fire splashes

Hi,

I just played scenario 003 as the egyptians. I noticed that my 17-pounders and 3-inch mortars did splash damage to adjacent hexes (I was firing at scout and RR jeeps) when they were using...

Re: Version 2.0 french OOB

Concerning the AMX VCI, it seems after some more digging that unit 90 becomes available as 'loose' vehicles in the misc screen from 1/57 onwards (not 1/54 as mentioned in the encyclopedia) and makes...

Re: BETA: PLEI ME version1.0

Hi Pyros,
I meant the one-turn scenario preceding the primairy mission. If you have a decisive defeat there (you take neither VH) you still go to the primairy mission. The only difference with...

Re: BETA: PLEI ME version1.0

I've started up the scenario's to check it out. I did my best to find a way to make the first scenario act other than its supposed too, (in other words trying to mess it up) but no luck. Which is...

Re: Possible bug with patch...

I've seen it happen (in SPWW2 though) with squads who had not spend their entire movement but lost the movement points left due to becoming pinned. They had lost some movement points (but not all)...

Version 2.0 french OOB

Hi there,

let me start off by joining those who are thrilled to see the new patch and the improvements to the game.
I did spot some things which seem to be 'off' though. So I thought I'd mention...

Re: Possible bug with patch...

I notice this effect occassionally in the SPWW2 games I play too. Might trace back that far. For some reason it seems to happen more often (although still rarely) after an assault attempt.

Not to distract anything from the notice Richard gave, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't speak on my behalf. This customer is one who doesn't demand answers but is perfectly happy to wait it out...

Re: It Begins! - A New Scenario by Wild Bill Wilde

Second remark on the scenario; the SA-11 Gadfly has a minimum range of 60 so it's just about useless on such a small map... except to serve as further cannonfodder....

Hi Bill,

just played the scenario. It was an enjoyable slaughterfest! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Results of 200 shots.

Some quick math based on your table shows that the average hit percentage per shot for those at 20% or lower is 12%.

14 out of 42 shots were hits though giving a 33%.

Are your scores based on...

Re: Missing french formations

Just some 'proof' to show that the Legion (and apparantly the RIMa too) are more than just foot soldiers and that 'heavier' cie's with the appropriate modifiers are warranted in the french obat. I...

"On the other hand my point was made even by your tests that after full movement a 1950s era T-10 still had the same ROF as most of the Abrams on the field"

Now lets turn that back into 'reality'....

Re: Soviet auto-loaders

You are being very silly here yourself. You can't even interpret your own test correctly!

As to the T10 being equal in ROF to the Abrams you've actually denied that twice in your own posts. You...
