Well, if I considered *doubling* the cost of mages that can cast GR fairly insignificant (Demilich vs Demilich + Skull Staff + Skull Face), I'd agree with that statement....

I made a simple test. 2 groups consisting of 12 Royal Marignon Guard, and 1 admiral. One group gets attacked by 1 GR, the other by a Phantasmal Army. Can you guess the results?

Sure it is. You can raid with ghost riders, then take the province with a scout. The size army you need to defend against this is a bit larger than most nations can afford for all their uncastled...

Hmmm...so you need a large army in every province to protect a couple mages that can probably only deal with 1 or 2 GR's. Or am I missing something?

Maybe 7 Death gems. My biggest beef on this, though, is that GR, Well of Misery, and Tartarian Gate are all in Conj. They should be in seperate disciplines.

Ok, I was wondering if it had to involve cyclical transmutes. Seems wasteful to me, at least in the short term. Doubtful I'd ever do the transmute part. Good use for excess water gems, though.

Ok, the math you guys are throwing out is just beyond me. I would, however, dispute lumping all mages into the same catagory for a test, though. There could be a problem with 1 particular unit type....
