It depends what do you use to kill them. If you're freezing or frying them, the morale seems to suffer much less.

I think you're making wrong conclusions. Opponents were pretty good. My strategy was quite decent too. It was simply wrong - I expected to encounter uber-bless, but neither of my opponents didn't...

Rainbow mage is a good idea, but don't use druids as a chassis. Ghost king is much better choice. You don't want astral on him and you don't need earth or blod either - that will save you some...

Civ4 took rather interesting approach to save games. Reloading the game was so insanely slow that nobody would want to reload unless one absolutely must had to turn the computer off...

I'm not sure that it's that catastrophic. In SP game it's not a big deal. In MP game it's tough, but I've recently got 4 bad events in a row (turns 3 to 6) that brought unrest in my capital above 100...

Try to run domsave.bat from outside of the game, from dominions directory (from command prompt). You should get some sensible message explaining the problem. One likely reason is that cygwin binaries...

When "More Options" is clicked, another menu pops:
-> Option A1
-> Option B1
-> More options ...
etc......

For example, If he is not cold resistant (or you can make him non-cold-resistant) he can just put him besides somebody with cold aura (or who can cast breath of winter) and command casting spells....

I can't say about Mac OSX, but on Windows standard descriptors work the same way as on Linux/UNIX if the application is built as "console" application. If application is built as "Windows"...

Gloves are cheaper, they require different gems and mages to forge them. Though I don't usually find either option very useful. 1 sword of quickness + 1 area damage shield is more attractive in most...

You can set Dominions to auto-save every turn - no need to waste time saving it manually at all (whether through professional or non-professional means). That's probably the most convenient approach...

I'm not sure that's the real reason. My guess would be is that it's just too much effort for little gain. There're many other areas in the game where the equal effort would make much better...

You don't need to go outside of the game to save. You need to go outside of the game to *reload*.
