Re: Gotta AI problem here and I could use some help

Copy that. But I've found through practical application that only the "command" element (Btn,Coy cmdr/ Ptl "cmdr") or the special defense section (last unit on ptl, independent ptl's or recce ptl's...

Re: Height Maps

Don,

I've noticed the same issue. In some instances, the terrain does seem to include too many elevation contours. Streams are problematic, but I also seem that to be a reflection of the SP's...

Re: Gotta AI problem here and I could use some help

I had this happen to me numerous times and with help from board members figured it out. Non-APC units should not do this. Check for that. If the units that start their first waypoint go up/left...

Re: Gotta AI problem here and I could use some help

I'm not sure if this will help, but I will often deploy only my forward elements on the initial turn, leaving follow-on elements to a reinforcement turn. I think I may have already said that I use...

Sorry Mate, I was at work.

Check the sticky in the scenario forum: MAPS/HEIGHT MAPS for a lengthy discussion.

You're going to come to love the program....

Re: Gotta AI problem here and I could use some help

I'll add some comments here.

I've never designed a scenario for exclusively top/bottom movement. I've done a few with flanking attacks from the top/bottom, and in those, I've used waypoint...

Re: Russian Invasion of the Baltic States

Exactly the way I researched it. I agree with the use of paratroopers as a major element in any Russian incursion. I just went a different direction with the emphasis on NATO's defense from...

Re: Anyone ever played Right-hand vs. Left-hand?

This is the way I've done it. Usually a Soviet 80's scenario where I map out a battle plan and then execute it as planned (ala Soviet junior officer doctrine). I usually set the objectives first...

Re: Russian Invasion of the Baltic States

That's a great base map. I don't care where it is in the world, but I may have to use that for a scenario!

Love this program.

Re: Russian Invasion of the Baltic States

I've been using the map generator: http://www.venhola.com/maps/

almost exclusively to generate maps for scenarios. It is a perfect tool to get correct topography for locations and adds realism...

Re: Russian Invasion of the Baltic States

I would still say don't bother. The Baltics are not defensible by NATO, in conventional terms, as of now.

What is more they could only be, perhaps, defensible if all Western European NATO nations...

Re: Delayed Bombardments

Understood and an easy fix. I'll correct that.

I did play around with the programmed fire on a new basic scenario and have gotten the batteries to fire at the assigned location at the assigned...

Re: Delayed Bombardments

Thanks.

I have the game on my work laptop (don't tell), and I just found the 2014 manual update explaining the programed artillery. I'll change that tomorrow and run a test to see if I got it...

These are the Soviet 130mm Arty units. I did not used programed fire (sorry, not familiar with it although I do have the full version of the game). I assigned the bombardment and set the artillery...

Thought again about posting the scenario before I can fix the issue so I'm attaching it to this thread.

Here is the scenario as it stands.

Thanks for the help.

Delayed Bombardments

I've come a long way in scenario design from the days of simply massing an OPFOR along lines of advance towards objectives and letting the AI do it's best.

I like designing scenarios from the...

Thanks. Coyle was an armor officer and a Virginia Military Institute graduate (VMI is a special place for me). I've been a fan of his work since Team Yankee came out in the 80's.

I have a second...
