Re: US Army Future Combat System

"--5 liter displacement common engine"

Seems rather small displacement for a combat vehicle engine..?

Re: Artillery smoke question

Only a limited time, maybe 2-5 turns, depending on caliber of the shell, to my recollection.

Re: Withdraw

Actually, when coming under fire and retreating I´ve seen infantry really pop smoke grenades, that makes the smoke grenade sound in the hex they were occupying and then retreating to the next hex. I...

Re: Weapon Stats (110, 128, 130, 150 and 175 mm gu

To me your figures look just fine. In some guns only thing you could up is the HEAT pen, like if your 110mm 1960 has HEAT pen 48 and 105 L7 has 47, you could think like 47:10,5=4,47 and 4,47x1,10=49,...

Re: Withdraw

Sometimes if infatry retreat under fire to the next hex, they will pop smoke, if they have smoke grenades left.

Re: Scout Helicopter = Forvard Observer unit ?

I tried it. Light helo gives more artillery opriority hexes, as it is condsidered as a FOO unit. They also have good art command values.

Re: Scout Helicopter = Forvard Observer unit ?

To my understanding, yes. Not sure about Scout helicopter, as it says Light Helicopter. Are these different class?

Re: US Sniper rifle???

As said this is a Bn level game. So generic bolt action-rifle, self-loading rifle, assault rifle will have the same generic characteristics. Also you can find out that different snipers have...

Re: OOBs way out of whack?

Oh please do not modify the stats of Kar98K. All bolt-action rifles of given calibre (or close ballistic performance) have the same acc and range and HE kill, because there are not any huge...

Re: I need tactical help

I wonder if any russians in this forum would agree, that actually the american trucks were essential for victory in their great patriotic war against the germans. Of course those trucks help, but...

Re: OOBs way out of whack?

Well, as I said I know how 9x19, 7,62x39 and 7,62x54 acts, when fired full auto. I have no personal experience of .45ACP. However here is a good thread about WW2 SMGs and their uses in different...

Re: OOBs way out of whack?

They are pistol cartridges that are fired with much longer barrels from SMGs than pistols, giving more velocity and basic accuracy. Sometimes SMG cartridges were made specially for submachineguns,...

Re: OOBs way out of whack?

In what war did you fire your two subguns? Considering they are the same Thompsons. I concur with you that a 2.36in bazooka should not be able nominally penetrate Tigers front armor. However many of...

Re: OOBs way out of whack?

You are probbly talking this when the prefences for american infantry is set to min. Because in a 50x50meter area that a hex represents, two 88mm HE shells will not rout a normal infantry squad in...

Re: Question - Fire Control and Range Finders

Hmm.. not sure about "bad" hitting of moving targets. Given that RR´s were designed to engage armored vehicles, that are seldom stationary in combat, I doubt that it´s inherently worse at engaging...

Re: Ideas how to improve WinSP MBT/WW2 !

I disagree. 12 hexes is 600meters in real life. 600meters is a long range for open sights in non-tripod mounted weapons. Our PKM SAW seldom shot over 500meters with any accuracy at normal, half upper...
