WinSteelPanthers

What about both games made into one, WinSPWW2, and WinSPMBT, in one game?

What do you say?

Too Much Ammo

How is it realistic to give troops small arms ammunition ratings of 90? To my mind (I'm no expert), the infantry might be more realistically modelled as having ammo ratings of say, 30.

Re: Guided Artillery

:hammer:

Haha!

Guided Artillery

Would a simulation of guided artillery use a spotter, with a weapon using a top-attack type weapon slot, to simulate the spotter guiding the shell onto the target?

I suppose laser-guided bombs and...

Campaign Suggestion

I've got an idea. What if instead of a core that travels with one as one goes through a campaign, refitting and upgrading etc, but a campaign that uses only support units?

My idea is this-with the...

Re: Flame Weapons

Could an AFV be rendered fire-proof, such as being buttoned up, and the engine compartment fire-proofed? The wheels might burn.

Re: Buttoned And Unbuttoned Option

I'd like both. The auto-button feature, and a manual mode, settable by the user.

Buttoned And Unbuttoned Option

Would it be possible to add a selectable buttoned and unbuttoned option? The buttoned option might be more protective against close assault, and the unbuttoned option giving more vision.

Flame Weapons

What effects would flame-type weapons have on AFVs?

I'm assuming the armour doesn't melt.

The flame weapons are rated too powerful, and in my own OOBs, I've lowered the HE penetration to 1,...

Re: Limited Fuel

Only guessing, but in some of the large and very large scenarios, I might even say something like a tiger, or any large and heavy vehicle, may not even make it across the map without re-fuelling.

Re: 2 Pounder 40mm Explosive Rounds

Would an old man telling a war story tell you how they 'shot cannons' at the enemy? (Purely fictitious-I suppose there's even military deception from WWII, heh)

Re: 2 Pounder 40mm Explosive Rounds

The maschinegun is just as effective as the cannon, at short ranges.

Re: My Personal OOBs For USA, Russia, Germany, and UK

A tank would be protected from threats, in the operational roles it would be demanded to fulfil.

For instance, if a Leopard was in the 44-49 range in frontal protection, it would be protected...

2 Pounder 40mm Explosive Rounds

Seriously, the 40mm Bofors flak cannon had explosive rounds.

Are they the same cartridge size, that would fit into the breech of a 2 pounder?

That would mean explosive rounds for the 2 pounder,...

Mod Suggestion-Winspww2 Individual

With some changes, possibly a lot of work, we could have 'Winspww2 Individual', where instead of squads, there are single troopers in squads, and then up to companies.

I realise the maximum...

Re: My Personal OOBs for USA, UK, China, Russia, Australia, And Germany

Is there any single source of the information in question? To my mind, there wouldn't be. There could even be unknowings spreading info from 'official' and 'de-classified' sources, and not just.

I...

Re: Exploding Halftracks

That's why I like this game. I might increase the survivability of non-explosive carrying vehicles, the ones with only bullets, or the similar.

So much could be deception, from both military and other sources. Even repeating spreading...

Re: Limited Fuel

Light vehicles like the Hellcat may have operated for hours, I suppose, whilst the heavies may have needed constant refueling, in comparison, I suppose.

Limited Fuel

Here's a suggestion-is there any way to add limited fuel to the game?

In certain circumstances and scenarios this may be useful.

What can a heavy like a Tiger with half a tank of fuel do, I...

Re: My Personal OOBs for USA, UK, China, Russia, Australia, And Germany

To my mind, to perform its role, a tank (or armoured vehicle) would have the necessary armour to protect, and reply/ and deliver fire protected.

On MBT's the armour seems thickest on the front.

Exploding Halftracks

In both SPMBT and SPWW2, halftracks and APC's 'explode', or 'catch fire' too often to my own estimation. APC's and halftracks generally only carry HMG and MG ammo, which would hardly explode if hit,...
