Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

They haven't been very useful, largely as a result of my failure to utilize them properly. I like the surprise though

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 2: Attack of the Dead

The Crippled what? Is this some sort of slang for your period?[/QUOTE]

That one was a bit of a stretch

My vote is to wait. I get the feeling that's a bit unpopular, I know, but I...

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

It was a bit of a double whammy. I moved in an army to attack one of Bogarus' that was sieging a fort, he absolutely smashed the army then took the fort to boot. Not a good day for Pythium.

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

The war in the south goes poorly. I still need to figure out a decent way to try and recover from that loss.

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 2: Attack of the Dead

I'm not sure whether or not you'd have to redo your turn, but to avoid the confusion in the future Gandalf recently put up an excellent page here: http://game.dom3minions.com/bin/privategames.cgi

The price of being the front runner with a continent to yourself, I guess ;)

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

I was considering it, up to and including returning some of your territory (truth be told I still am) but leaving a potentially very hostile enemy on an unguarded border terrifies me for some reason....

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

General declaration from Pythium to Bogarus,

Though I would very much prefer to avoid a war on two fronts, the growing might of Bogarus is not something that I'm able to avoid any longer. Though...

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 2: Attack of the Dead

I wasn't referring to you there, I was talking about Vanheim. You've pretty much got my hydra's number to the point where I'm not even bringing them to the front anymore.

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 2: Attack of the Dead

In my limited experience, hydras are an excellent way to break player morale. Gogo mobile regenerating clouds of poison!

Also echoing Finalgenesis' comment, great work on the admin'ing iRFNA

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 2: Attack of the Dead

I'm having this problem, and it was around for awhile in the other Newb game. The workaround seems to be to wait for it to hang, forcibly shut it down, and try again. You might need 2 or 3 tries but...

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

It was actually just a spell Foci for each of the Arch Theurgs; I got extremely lucky there.

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

Very much so, unfortunately. Some very silly mistakes on my part exacerbated that.

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

Thinking back, C'tis was talking about being doomed since right around Christmas, so the fact that they've both lasted this long against one another and Man is altogether very impressive.

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

Better than losing yet another communion honestly. 12 hydras are no longer enough to do much it seems

Re: NewbsGoneWild: Uninhibited amateur action! [Zeal is its own excuse]

That battle ended only slightly worse than I'd predicted. I figured that for a loss, I just wasn't sure how bad it would be. Hrm. I need to plot some more, it seems; that was a very large amount...

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 1: The Phantom Menace

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 1: The Phantom Menace

As a note, I did get my event messages for the turn, however the attack that I ordered didn't occur, and the mercenary squad that I tried to rehire didn't get my bid (I wasn't outbid, as no one...

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 1: The Phantom Menace

I do indeed have 1.82. That turn wasn't overly important, and my start is shaping up to be very slow anyway so I'm not too worried, but it's all very odd.

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 1: The Phantom Menace

None of my orders appear to have gone through either. Odd. In addition, a friendly neighborhood vampire count decided that now would be the perfect time to take one of my provinces. Hurrah.

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 1: The Phantom Menace

bbz, any chance you have MA and LA Ermor confused? Or you sent your message to the wrong person, I'm guessing. Haven't spotted you with scouts, and my dominions isn't of the 'kill em all' variety...

Re: NewbsWithLowSelfEsteem - Year 1: The Phantom Menace

Ah, I thought I was the only one. Then the Admiral spoke up, so I thought it was just the pair of us. That makes me feel a bit better. The Imperium is above grudges, after all. Though not above...
