Re: Minor issues

I have always accepted a Hit/No Damage on AA Missiles to be a factor of how many are designed.

Generally speaking, many AA missiles aim to get ahead of the target and burst a cloud of shrapnel...

Re: AP vs Bunker/Pillboxes

While it is not directly simulated in the game, the "host of other random factors" can also be envisioned to represent that even if a fired round does not penetrate a bunker wall, that wall will have...

Re: Minor issues

1. Since the Hind was your primary complaint I will write that the Hind is so heavy that it cannot fly Nap-of-the-Earth at higher speeds like other attack helicopters. Common doctrine is a straight...

Re: Update Schedule

As a retired commercial graphic designer and computer animator I can say that in the US you would expect to pay $38,000 to hire just a Graphic design Intern for a year. If you wanted someone with...

Re: Strike aircraft not following exit orders

Could that also remove some game realism by eliminating the chances of an airstrike hitting your own units? Airstrikes near troops is still tricky with modern ordnance. I would like to see that...

Re: Height Maps

It is coastal on the western edge so it has zero and minus terrain level. What I believe is if I make the highest terrain 15 which in real life is 625'/200m then making a 100'/33m elevation change a...

Re: Height Maps

I am posting this here since i am working on a map generated from the Venhola map tool.

From the WINSPMBT Game Guide:

Terrain, hills and LOS

Each level of hill in the game is broken down...

Re: Heavy Transporter

In terms of stuffed to the limit OOBs, any thoughts on creating a new WINSP? Say, WINSPWW2, WINSPMBT 1946-2000, WINSPMBTX 2001-2050? It would really just be a clone of the engine but would allow...

Re: Implementing A Reverse Slop Defense

Here is a modified reverse slope defense that we used once at the National Training Center in the Mojave desert. (Ft. Irwin CA.)
Our tank heavy battle group was deployed along a linear elevation...

Re: Implementing A Reverse Slop Defense

A key factor in real life reverse slope defense is the angle of slope needs to be steep enough that the enemy tanks crossing the topographical crest cannot depress their main gun enough to target the...

Re: Question on infantry SAMs

Might do better checking the combat record of Blowpipes in real life. They were not very effective with a minimum range of .5Km (10 hexes in game) and a MCLOS guidance system.
The Falklands War...

Re: Gliders or Transport

In actual operations gliders were seldom able to land the units as cohesive as in training. Glider landing accidents often wiped out the entire unit rather than the individual losses of a paradrop. ...

Re: Dust

The main problem with the game's dust, IMO, is that it last to long. About 50% of a dirt/sand dust trail is heavy and needs a strong wind to stay aloft. The dust trail should only be thick for 4-6...

Re: Persistant problem with airborne units

Works in real life. An optically guided ATGM will not set off radar warning systems and the missile will be a hard hit detonation.
AA missiles are often designed to detonate just before the...

Re: Sorry, but one other thing need tweaking?

The 81 is going to break down into 4 components for ground tactical movement while the M2 will be in two groups.

A M2 With 4 men would have two hump the ground mount with two on the gun. All...

The second...

Re: Rommel, Erwin "Attacks" 1937

An important tactical observation he made was that suppression was more important than assaulting force. The dominate theory was that the strength of the attacking force was the key to winning an...
