Re: Tactics and Correct use of Scouts ?

If the first unit you ran into spotted you (as it did since it fired at you) you were spotted by all german units with a LOS to you. So there may have been units that spotted you but did not fire...

Re: Dragon Fire II 120mm Mortar

Some would, most don't though as free trade is a win/win situation per defenition. It's protectionistic measures that turn it into a win/lose situation instead. And then it becomes a fight of who'll...

Re: OOB 30 Canada

Haven't checked it myself yet but you can always use the 'allies' button to get a similar FO unit from another OB (oh let's say the british http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )as...

Re: Oldies...

Spotting ability is partly depended on experience of the unit. Most scout units have an experience (and morale) bonus and hence spot slightly better on average. But there is no additional bonus for...

Re: Western OPFOR in Durango Valley

On LeClercs; when I was hitchhiking my way across southern parts of France with a friend of mine we at one time got a ride from a french army Colonel. Turned out he was in charge of the (only) french...

Re: Combat dropping AFV\'s?

I know that's the theory. And undoubtedly there have been succesful exercises. Some even with troops in them if the claims by the soviet and now russian defence forces are correct. Wouldn't want to...

Re: Air Cobras

Not all printed sources are the same quality, just like not all internet sources are the same quality. And that's the ultimate point, the quality of a source.

Combat dropping AFV\'s?

Hi,

I'm looking for evidence (not just claims but evidence) that AFV's such as the BMD can be dropped (with parachutes) from a flying aircraft and after landing be able to drive off. And I'd like...

Re: Why to buy ATGM AFVs?

Don't fire them during the opponents face (set range low) unless you expect a valuable target to appear that turn that you realy want to take out. The disadvantage of using them in OP fire is that...

Re: LOS and spotting

I noticed something very similar when I was in school as a kid. Some kids were playing hide and seek near the bycicle stands. One was hiding behind two bicycles parked just in front of the stands....

Re: Air Cobras

Perhaps you misintepreted my post since there are no vexed questions there, just a clarification of the difficulties in coming to objective and 'realistic' scores for units.

It's simple, there...

Re: Air Cobras

As to size differences there is one important thing you shouldn't forget. There are so many units in this game fo any given general type that it is very easy to put them all next to each other in...

Re: Totorial Scenario - Cannot Load Kommandeur

I was finaly able to reproduce it!
Open game (A0 automatically selected at start); press L; press L again. A0 won't load.
Change to unit E2; press L; press L again; E2 will load into E4.
Same if...

Just tried your attached save and it works fine. No problem loading the A0.
Could you perhaps tell us exactly what you do when it fails for you? So every single step you take and what button or key...

Re: In Russian OOB have ended slots the weapon.

The mg in slot 069 is a BMG. That means it is hull mounted, not turret mounted. All hull mounted mg's have a reduced range (because they have a much more restricted field of fire).

Re: Immortal Infantry - How raise HIT chance ?

Where those tanks stationary (ie NOT moving) when firing? If they moved they have their hit frequency greatly reduced.

Personally I think this is just a mater of tactics used. The issue of too...

Re: Russian spec.force - exp and morale

There's a difference between having conscripts in an army and having a conscript army. The dutch for example did have conscription but about 60% of the soldiers were professionals.

Re: Targeting Airstrikes

The answer to that is to also be selective in what order you buy which planes. The first few are very likely to get shot down or damaged so these should not have big (mixed) loads (4 clusters in one...

Re: Insta-rout?

Hi Charles, any unit can completely panic (supr 99) from a single casualty. SS is not immune from that. It's just much less likely to happen with them. But sooner or later it will. That's why you've...

Re: Autocannon ammo loadout of AFVs

Another possible candidate is the AIFV. In the dutch OB (nr 28) known as the YPR-765 PRI (unit 176 and 056), in the belgian OB (nr 27) as the AIFV-B (unit 064) and in the Turkish OB (nr 32) as the...

Re: Thermal imaging

There is no reduction in vision range due to smoke. It is an all or nothing principle. Either you can see through it or you can't.
Nor is there a fixed amount of smoked hexes that block vision....
